Great idea to save several square feet of floor space.

Great idea! I've been struggling with where to keep my recycling bin, as I actually have a large, trash-can style bin on wheels - does everyone keep their recycling bins in the garage??? Would love to hear other potential ideas or locations...

yeah every foot counts,i'm in florida, 2 kids (bikes, etc) hardly any attic space due to trusses, no basements =(, haven't figured out where to put a shed yet. Those bins have drove me nuts for awhile.

I'm trying to get everything off the floor of the garage except tool box, and a few items. I took an idea off this site for garage soffits and build a 2 by shelf around the entire perimeter of the garage (thus needing a ladder). Figured this was simpler than hanging shelving there as i'm not 100% sure what i'm doing with that wall yet, probably slatwall it.

I'm working on that wall right now so that's just a temporary location. Its right on the wall from the garage entry so easy to throw stuff in from the house.

Nice work, I saw a set of brackets for just such a thing (recycling boxes) at Canadian Tire the other day and thought, what a good idea.

I guess that means a patent is out for you :(

shucks! There goes the retirement and idea of spending 8 hours a day in the garage.

actually i stole the idea from googling hanging recycle bins on the wall and saw someone selling some little clip things you'd mount on the wall.

I just upgraded to a rolling recycling dumpster. It stays outside next to the garbage dumpster, and I no longer have to use valuable garage space to store empty bottles. And since it's so much larger than the square bin it replaced, I don't even have to crush bottles and cans anymore to make them fit! :bounce:

Thanks! You know a b-ball board behind them would not be a bad idea...

I've never seen that bluebox buddy! damn prior art stuff is going to keep me from being rich =P

that's exactly what i was kinda looking for googling though and the only thing i ran into was some guy with some hooks type things.

I have the same but still run a garbage barrel in the shop as well a barrel with a hole in the lid for my empties, one full barrel means darn close to a free box of beer!

Garage space is at a premium in this house we're moving into. I do think these little angle brackets might come in very handy to hang things up out of the way! Awesome idea!
