I was recently contacted by Denise, She was "hired by Mike to increase service and decrease response time to questions and order inquiries" There was a spreadsheet which inluded his current inventory with On hand Quanity and Prices. I seen a few things that peeked my interest and anytime i can spread some money around to a small time business owner i will happily ablige. Ive purchased from Mike before in the past and was happy with his service and the Product in general, So needless to say i wasnt worried about contacting him and giving him my Credit card info over the phone. I ended up picking up a Extra Long MM combination wrench set and a MM Stubby set, Both sets represented 10 pieces, 10-19 with No missing slots. They just came today and both items come in at "Rarely Used" on my Tool Radar. I will try and Make a Habit to grab one of these wrenches whether the need requires it or not just to see how they hold up, probably easier said with the Extra Long wrenches versus the stubbies as i just dont seem to need them very often. I know we have a lot of Members here who like to check there tools over for defects etc.. Well i spent some time manipulating to wrenches in every conceivable angle and i did find 1 defect.. The 18MM has a small crease in the finish.. LOL, With that said it is very minor and unless it starts chipping there its not gonna bother me 1 bit.

Comparison pics of a 19MM/10MM SO Standard length to a Extra Long length Toptul Pattern wrenches. This is Not a fair comparison or intended to claim 1 wrench is better than the other. Only a Image to visually gauge the Length of the Toptul Wrench.

19MM Wrench measures either 13 1/2" or 13 5/8" depending on how you measure it.

GaaF1007 which is the Extra Long set runs $69.45
Gaaf1001 which is the Stubby set runs $34.33

Mike has always provided a 20% discount for Garage Journal Members, So you can take 20% off the Above List prices and that gets you to $83 bucks and some change + your preferred shipping method. He is still having issues with his Website, Which is why he hasnt been on Promoting the Tool line as much as he should. Mike has recently hired Denise and she will me handling alot of the marketing and Q and A for the Membership. You can contact either Mike or Denise at [email protected] with any questions you might have or to place a order

Superior wrenches here. Quit wasting your money on overpriced tools. Hard line tools don't get much better than Toptul.

We have quite a few screw drivers from Toptul/Mike Wren. The service is a bit slow, and the green is a little much for me but the tools are of good quality.

Whats the warranty like?

Ive never warranted anything (Lifetime), Nor can i remember reading any posts where warranty was needed. I have no doubt Mike would take care of any issues... I dont warranty alot of tools, So i dont get all worked up about the issue especially on tools that have such a Low price tag.

These tools have a lifetime warranty.

I also got a few things, I purchased loose long fractional wrenches from 3/4 down to 1/4, these will be part of a tool kit the will go in my Mustang. Mike said he is going to be getting some inventory soon, I'll get some sets of the satin finish sockets and move my existing sockets into the tool kit.

How are the open ends on those toptuls? My problem with chinese wrenches is that they spread like a cheap prostitute. Not hating just wondering.

I agree ive seen some Junk Chinese tools in my day, I do want to reinterate that these are produced in Taiwan and over the last decade they have proven that they can make some quality tools, Especially in the Higher end stuff such as Toptul, Genius etc.. I cant comment on these Wrenches as i just received them but i will make a habit of grabbing them versus my Wright/Snappy/matco's. I know we have some members here who bought some toptul when Mike first came on the scene, Maybe they can chime in.

Yes, his website has issues. Email, or better yet, call him. I just spoke with him this morning, and should have an order on the way shortly :bounce:

Judging by the quality control they seem to pay attention to these products, and it is impressive for a chinese toolmaker.

Talked to him on the phone the other day and he was nice enough. Says he is getting ready to get another order in the works from the manuf. As a partner in a startup, I completely sympathize with wanting to control your out of pocket costs. That being said, the webpage was frustrating to use and the links always ended up on a 404, but he is reworking it and it appears to have some better links now, but he wants you to call for prices as opposed to having a list posted yet. I guess I'm ok with that. I gave him a list of a few things I'd like to try when he gets a new shipment going, but I'm not in a hurry, either.

I have some double open-ended wrenches from Mike. I had a 22mm bolt that wouldn't break loose. At the time, the only 22mm socket I had was a Cman that was broached wrong or something and wouldn't make enough contact on the bolt to do anything other than round it off.

I used a Toptul 22mm wrench on it with basically all my 200lbs on top and it broke the bolt loose with zero spreading, zero chrome chipping, etc. I was impressed.

I have liked all of my Toptul stuff that I've gotten from Mike. I think the tools are excellent and I think Mike is a great guy. I really would like to see his business start humming along more efficiently.

If you just can't abide foreign stuff, it's not for you. But if you don't mind where you get your high-quality tools, I'd recommend them.

I dont see high quality Taiwanese stuff as being any different than the German stuff that has such a following. Foreign is foreign.

On another note I just purchased a set of these long pattern wrenches like the ones pictured. :bounce:

I have some Snap Ons and CMan Pro as well as some CMan Raised Panels I can compare them with.

I responded to that email I got and have yet to get a response. In all fairness I was asking about some items that weren't on the included list. Mike's the best in the business to deal with, just hoping this new employee expedites things a bit. Overall I'm just jealous to see someone getting some new Toptul stuff :). After several years my toptuls have really risen to the top of my toolbox.

As a courtesy to the ideas being shared on this thread, I would like to make some noise about Toptul.

As probably very few of you know I actually purchased the extra long combos pictured in this thread from Hiball. I immediately put them to work at my job as a Toro/golf course service technician.

I primarily wanted these wrenches for 3 different sizes of fasteners for the adjustment for the cut on the mowing reels. You really need to torque down on them and I was having problems with my Craftsman raised panels and Craftsman Pros. I needed something longer. So I did a straight replacement of those wrenches for these Toptuls for the day.

They handled everything I threw at them. They have the look and feel of a much higher priced wrench and they do the job just as well. I had to tighten a tongue on a trailer as well. They were 3/4 size nylock nuts. I instinctively went for my impact but thought I would try the 19mm wrench on it instead. I routinely use 19mm on 3/4 nuts with nary a problem. I took the wrench and put it on the nuts and proceeded to step on it until the wrench tool my full weight of 200 lbs. I stood on the very end of it on the ball of my foot.

Then I had to remove some studs from an aluminum cylinder head. They were particulary stubborn and I really had to crank down hard on the double nut. I was using the 10mm wrench with seems rather frail and spindly but never once even felt like it was going to fail in any way.

No problem.

These wrenches are in my tool box to stay. I just hope they are not too long. I may have to purchse some stubbies. In which case I will be pissed I did not also purchase the stubby set Hiball also had for sale.

The stubbies look exactly like the ones I have that are K-Tool International. Same plastic tray and everything, wonder if they are the same manufacturer?
