Up for sale is this war-torn hero. It has been fully cleaned and lubed, ready to go back in action. Clicks very nicely.
This is during the era when New Britain acquired Blackhawk (Source).
I don't know the exact date of this thing but it does have "12" stamped
into the handle. On the reverse it reads " PAT 2554990 & 2981389 ",
which are New Britain patents. The retaining circlip reads I-106. No other
markings or engravings.
Pat info: 2554990 & 2981389
The knurling on the ratchet is fair at best. There are areas where it worn
down, and areas that are still grippy.
The shifter functions perfectly and the whole unit feels as though it is
decades away from retiring. I'd also like to add that this is the exact
same construction as the USA Husky rat I sold a week or two back.
Any other questions, please feel free to ask.
My price on the ratchet, with aesthetics and functionality in mind, is $10
Other than the research I have shared with you, I couldn't tell you two
things about the ratchet or Blackhawk. I tried to get a feel for how
common they are and I can see that people aren't exactly pulling up
floorboards looking for this. If I'm outta line, just shoot
me a PM.
