So I'm always having trouble keeping track of what I need to do in the shop and got tired of having little pieces of paper everywhere. Bought a roll of Dry Erase contact paper and put a piece up on my garage door and my walk in door as well. Also bought a pack of dry erase markers with magnetic caps now I can jot down whatever I'm thinking about

My sister had a chalkboard material installed on several of here kitchen cabinets rather than normal wood for the door panel. Pretty cool idea I though. Sorry no pictures

I use a free dropbox account. I have a text file that I can update from anywhere...garage computer, laptop, work, even my phone. Really makes iteasy to jot down an idea in a central location anywhere I am

Excellent Idea!

I have a shared file on my home network that I use. But being able to get to it from your phone or work would be a great addition.

I have a whiteboard in my garage, but it is used more often by people leaving cute notes to my wife. I like the drop box idea....see, not just for sharing pictures any more!

I keep a mental list of the important things.
When my wife asks when I'm going to get to something
it goes to the bottom of the list again.

ive got a dry erase board on the man door in the garage.

one side i keep the "to do" list for my harley and s-10 blazer
other side is the shopping list for parts & supplies

we used to use them all the time in the race shop and trailer, nothing got forgotten that way.

For non-workshop reminders, my wife and I write on the bathroom mirror with dry erase markers. Acts just like a dry erase board and gets the note right in front of you in the morning.

I hung a small whiteboard over one of the benches. I jot down to-do items for the cars, and maintenance info (filter part numbers, oil change mileage, etc...). I can even color-code stuff if I need to (red = high priority, green = low, blue is everything else, and black for random notes). After a productive weekend (rare lately), I'll wipe it down and re-write the list from high to low.

For a specific project, I have those little 3x5 spiral notebooks. I can take notes and make parts lists, and then drop it in my pocket for a parts run.

The Honey-do list of household projects is kept by my wife. I work it top to bottom as time and money allows. Right now, it is just a sheet of paper with scribbles all over it.

+1 on the actual whiteboard, with a ledge for dry erase pens and eraser.

I have two of them in my shop. One for my list of project / punch list items, and the other one is for my kids to draw on when they hang out in the shop with me.

My wife tried to sell my daughters dry-erase board with pen holder and pen for $1.00. Hung it next to the entry door and wrote her an IOU on it ;)

I write on the inside of the car windscreen with a dry erase marker sometimes if I've got a lot of places to go to in a day and don't want to forget any.

I use a small spiral pocket notepad. I have one task per line, use both sides of the sheet. I just carry it with me. It's also handy for small sketches and noting dimensions on the go for stuff. I've tried phone apps, whiteboards, excel spreadsheets. This just works for me.
