Hey rsieracki,

Did you ever end up getting those slides and if so, from where?

I have a Husky 92855. And it needs two slides.

The tag says call 888-HD HUSKY for parts Info. I will do that Monday. But in the meantime wondering what I should be expecting or and tips.

Thanks.

FYI to all,

I just got off the phone with Husky and in turn Stanley and they are sending me slides free of charge. Easy as pie. I'll update when I get them and install.

UPDATE: Stanley/Husky sent me the wrong slides. I called them and they said they sent the wrong slides because they don't stock the right slides anymore- WTF!?!? What good does that do?

They said I'm SOL and there is no warranty for this. They did offer a 10% discount on a Husky box from HD...no thanks!

Anyone know where I can source the correct slides for this. I will post up pics of them...

I ended up getting the correct slides through Husky. I had to find a part # and give to them. I have it somewhere...I'll try to dig it up.

I called husky and they told me to call apex tool for them. So I called apex tool and they said call Stanley but didn't have the number. So call husky back and spoke with someone that was not helpful at all. She said I was out of luck with getting these replacement drawer slides. Don't know what else to do at this point. I have the older red box that is top and bottom but paid like $950 for the set.

I'll get you the part numbers..they are about as organized as a hoarder.

The new numbers don't cross reference with the old ones...

I wrote them down on a loose leaf..just don't know which one. Organized, ya know. :lol_hitti

Ok, found it....

old part #s:

Left Side...............Right Side
040159 or............040160 or
101105A .............101106A

Correct "new" #s are:

40159...................40160

When you call them just keep it simple and say you need those part #s. The number is something like 1-888-HD HUSKY, or HUSKY HD.....it's somewhere in these threads.

BTW: get all of them while they still have them in stock. And look to see if you can put double drawer slides where needed.

Good luck!

If you are serious I just picked up another KR1000 and KR1100 combo so my red set may be available this Summer after I build my garage. I'm not too far from MA...:3gears:

Since beach made these boxes for a few different places (Husky and MAC being two) you can find parts. I emailed MAC with pictures and anything they asked and they gave me part numbers for the slides. I'll go back and look at my emails and pull those up for you. I ended selling my box instead of replacing the slides. BTW, the detents were gone and my drawers would come open on there own. I had to keep it locked when not in use.

I think I have a similar box as the original post Husky 92-855, ~ mfr year 1998, and all the detent bushings have failed. Looking for replacement I found this thread and encouraged me to share. My detent bushing do not look like previous post AZ, they are a narrow type. I found Snap-On Detent Kit, Narrow, Standard Stiffness Item: 8-88ASNRK $3.70 USD (for a pair of detents to fit one drawer) to be a perfect replacement. I also tried the extra heavy duty detent but I had to use way to much effort and slam the drawer shut to get it to engage.

Those Pink detents are the same design as a patent held by Accuride. Accuride is a large supplier of drawer slides for cabinets and industrial uses and they also make custom slides. The manufacturer of the Husky box that uses the pink bumpers has gone out of business, in like 2005. I spent a ton of time trying to find alternative slides and I don't there are any direct replacements available. My conclusion is that Accuride made custom slides for the Box maker who sold the Husky boxes to Home Depot. Having said all that if you call Accuride support and tell them you have model 3834 slides and the bumper dents have all failed and cracked, they will send you replacements. I contacted them via email and after a short email exchange they send me replacements free of charge.

I need a replacement swivel caster with brake for a model 91-843Y. Does 91 represent the date code, 1991? I called Husky customer support - 888-434-8759 - today asking for this part and they asked me to send pictures of the box and the model #. I sent them 10 pics including pics of the swivel caster. I hope they are able to help as I'll have to replace all of the casters otherwise. I just can't find the same caster and mounting plate dimensions
anywhere online. Wish me luck!

Just an update, I have been able to help about 20 members with replacement bumpers. I have enough left for maybe 20 drawers. If there is interest let me know. To get more made I would need to front $300 or more and as I sell them at cost it's not an attractive plan.

Any info about this detent bumper style? Color was originally a medium gray, it has yellowed to a beige shade. I need several of these, at least four but I'd like to get about two dozen. They came from a black Husky tool chest/tower set (upper and lower) with stickers on the back upper corner of each box. The upper box sticker has part number 92-2715-6BKN, Home Depot SKU 853282, UPC 774359000874, and a date of 01-21-08. The sticker on the lower chest has part number 92-2752-6BK, Home Depot SKU 526558, UPC 774359000157, and a date of 01-26-08. The set has 22 of the detents pictured, plus 4 different ones of a hard black plastic which look fine (for the top set of three narrow drawers).

Drawer slides with this "dog bone" shaped detent style are not compatible with any of the ones shown earlier in this thread, nor apparently with Accuride's "dog bone" detents. These slides are unbranded but have numbers like 102986A, 102987A and 0730 on them as well as "Taiwan".

If anyone's looking for the non-Accuride "dog bone" hold-closed detent bumpers as shown in post #34 above, I'm working on making them available through Shapeways. Cost will probably be about $50 for a sprue of 24, printed in TPU polyurethane elastomer. Check back here about November 15, as I need to receive and test them first. If anyone then wants any of the other shapes, I can put those up too but I would need a good original one to measure and model first. For those with Accuride-branded drawer slides, I recommend you get original detent bumpers from them first if possible.

I got my 3D printed detent bumpers, and they seem to work fine.

Shapeways doesn't allow offering products made of TPU directly in their Marketplace - I would have to set up and link an Etsy account, with additional listing fees incurred, plus every Etsy order would be charged to me by Shapeways. It's all just too much of a PITA.

However, I've found a possible alternative: i.materialise.com. They look much cheaper too - about $30 for the sprue of 24 parts (which is two more than my tool tower set needs).

But since no one has said they want these detents, I'm not going any further until someone does so. Reply here if you want the "dog bone" shape shown in post #34 above, or any of the others. For other styles I will need one to measure and model first, even a broken one as long as all the parts are there and fit together reasonably well.

If these replacement detent bumpers become "a thing", I'll start a new topic just for them.

Ok folks I too have an older Husky tool box with the broken detents, however I contacted Tool Service Net, which is Stanley Tool box company at https://www.toolservicenet.com/dewalt/en/ and they were kind enough to send me 50 of the detents at no charge. The phone number for them is 1-888-678-7278 the part number for the detents is 1023456 and yes they are the red ones, see pictures

I called the number for my old husky made in Canada part number 92-850 (top & bottom chest total 23 drawers. Same as user pic) on the website it says ~$2 for 1 detent or 1 pair? They were not clear and gave different answers. They redirected me to purchase it there which is unfortunate since I need 46 detents and I definitely don't want to pay $50 or $100+tax+shipping for plastic. I went with Amazon instead. PROMARK Replacement Rubber End Stopper/Bumpers for Drawer Slides (10 pack) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08WJX3VCP?tag=atomicindus08-20
Hopefully they fit.
Update: They fit pretty well for 92-850 for the red detents (they were also a tight fit on my old costco CSPS toolbox for top/bottom), however, the 92-855 is different. The 92-855 is the one AZ_engineer posted. T Shaped.

Hi AZ_Engineer for your replacements did you 3D print them? If so, are you willing to share the models for the T-Shaped detent. I do need 26 for 13 drawers but would like extras just in case they break again. I don't have a single intact piece to produce a model for 3D printing.
