I just picked up this parts washer cabinet last week and wanted to see if anyone on here has used this or has any info about this. The only info I could find was on Snap-On's site: http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/parts/pro_det.asp?Item_id=37066&group_id=8575

I have not seen a parts washer with a window and case like this, so does it have a lot of pressure? What kind of cleaner can I use in this? What's this worth? Anything about this is appreciated.

Thanks, good info, I didn't take a pic of the inside, but it looks like I am missing the container for the cleaner, unless there is a drum as the pickup is attached to a round piece of sheet metal, possibly clamped to the top.

Definitely $$$, if you look at the link I provided for what they still sell. Some of the parts there like the $45 drain is a simple sink drain, Identical.

I see in your link, "A 12 gallon reservoir stores the cleaning solution and a reusable filter and baffle system screens and diverts debris and oil into a separate disposal tank."

I don't see any filters in mine, not sure if they didn't exist or is just missing, someone took a piece of screen and affixed it to the intake. Simple filter, but not sure if I can add a gravity filter coming from the drain. Any ideas here?

Maybe I can get newer parts for 42 model and exchange, will have to look and see what Snap-On has for that one.

Does the tank have fluid in it all the time or just pump from the tank. TP tools had a bag that you placed the cleaning wand and ran the fluid into and it absorbed the oil/grease/dirt.

More pics of the cabinet.:)

I will definitely take more pictures, I snapped those 2 with my phone while I unloaded it, should have snapped a few of the internals. Will be up next week, dropped them off at the shop and waiting for electricity, so not currently there.

I just looked through TP's site and didn't see that, could you post a link?

It would appear the cleaner sits in the tank underneath which has the heater coil in it and get sucked through the pump into the hose piece, the drain system is identical to your sink, including the little strainer thing that sits in the top with one exception no trap, straight shot to the underneath tank.

Started to disassemble the pickup / heater lid piece. the heater was not wired up and the hose was cracked in two places. Looks like if I find a mini drum I could use to create the fluid holding tank, the diameter is just shy of 12" and have most of that space under there for it and may have to adjust the pipe coming through.

Am looking into possible filtering solutions, as the old method of an old piece of metal screen wrapped with a wire to the end of the pickup seems to be a poor system. Either I filter returning into the holding tank, or at the pickup where I can filter finer with the pull of the pump.

I have the model 42 and it has a square sump for the heater and also another set of fixed jets that you can switch to from the hand held hose to allow you to use it like a dish washer. They take a powdered detergent that you can get from snap-on. On mine the pump puts out about 400 psi if I remember correctly and the immersion heater heats the tank/return sump. I think I remember it was Dee-blast that makes them for snap-on but they have allmost nothing about them on their website.

Correction I went and looked they now have NOTHING on their web site about them... I got my manual from my snap-on guy a few years ago. I think that they still sell the model 42 but maybe not much longer??

Whats the powdered detergent like? I see a lot of notes about only using aqueous cleaners, assume they are trying to keep the acids and other stuff from being pressurized.

I tried e-mailing Dee-Blast and it was returned instantly.

Well the Snap-on stuff is $$$$ and low foaming, and non-corrosive. I don't use it as I have a huge drum of another powdered detergent that is made for hydro blast type block cleaners. I'm sure it too is $$$$ but I got it for all most nothing so...... Dee-Blast is still in business you might want to call them, I seem to remember that they faxed me some thing about my machine ( a complete parts listing ) a few years ago when I called them.
