I have a budgit 1 ton chain hoist, probably dates to the sixties as far as age. It has a spot to add oil to it, The question I have is there a specific type of oil to be used in chain hoist?

My chainfall says SAE 30 oil.

30 Wt is fine but don't use a motor oil get something like a machine shop way oil, as it is made to "stick" and not just drain off of non-horizontal surfaces.
