"Straight" wrench rails?

Been going over wrench storage.

Picked up some of these Ernst rails:

http://www.ernstmfg.com/products_wrenches_rail.php

Specifically, the 40-wrench variety.

They're definitely better than laying all the wrenches flat in a drawer, but they're still not what I want. Not a fan of the one straight rail and the other angled rail, as that assumes a set with gradient sizing.

That assumption works great for SOME of my wrench sets, but does not work at all for others.

Is there a set of rails that sit parallel to each other, but aren't joined/connected by a base plate? Something I can adjust as needed, and angle out if needed for bigger sizes?

Been going through some threads and I've seen some foam jobs, but I want ABS/plastic.

Not bad, but that does prompt me to clarify - any rails that are shorter?

These rails will definitely be on my list when I get a bigger box.

Right now, I'm limited by a 16" drawer depth.

I think those types of rails usually come in a certain size and you just "trim" them with a utility knife to make them work for your application/number of wrenches.

The red snap on holders are made to be cut to your desired length.

I've been using them for years.

Yes, for the most part the snap-on ones can be cut to fit.
I was pretty sure they were made by earnst as well.
(same as what you posted)

I have the Ernst version of the Snap-on straight rails, I also have some Ernst 40-wrench sets with the angled and straight rails. If you want the least amount of wasted space, you have to buy a couple sets and trim them.

I have the ernst rails and have some configured parallel- like for stubby wrenches. If they don't sell a set of equal length then I must have used two of the shorter rails. You'll end up with extra pieces if you do this as I have plenty of leftovers.

Anyone know the part number for the Ernst straight rails? The set where you angle one of them doesn't seem like it would work, as the longer rail has bigger spaces between slots to accomodate being placed at an angle.

The Ernst rails are taller than the Snap on rails. The Snap on rails are not made by Ernst, they're made in China. The last ones I got from snap on were black despite being listed as red. You can easily trim the Snap on rails to fit any drawer depth. Rails afford you the flexibility to tailor your storage to various lengths and types of wrenches.

Agreed. I'm already finding an incredible amount of space savings with the Ernst rails I've bought, and will likely continue to use them for the larger wrench sets I've got.

I'm not opposed to the Snap-On rails, just curious if there's the "OE" product for cheaper (not that they're cost-prohibitive) as I need to buy multiple sets.

If that's what I've got to get, that's what I've got to get. :bounce:

I have these magnetic ones from E Z Red and I'll never use anything else. Very strong magnets to hold the wrenches on and strong magnets on the bottom of the rail, so it won't slide around in a drawer. Only downside is that they're about $25 a pop at the cheapest I could find them (and I suppose a small downside is that they won't hold aluminum wrenches, so AN wrenches won't work with them).

Here it is set up vertically on the lid of my tool box just to show how well the magnets work.

For the need for straight rails I purchased two pairs of the Ernst rails and made up two sets of equal length rails
