Looks pretty good. I might have done the head in chrome for some contrast.

Did you know you can copy the IMG code into your post and they show up on here?

So you mean you had it electrostatically painted; versus the original black oxide finish? How did you prep the surface and how durable will you think it will be? It looks good right now...

I have had things powder coated and it seemed like it was easy to flake the coating off, best of luck on your ratchet though, very nice.

Yea I was about to say the same thing. I powder coated a few ratchets in the past and it did not hold up well in the long run. The pipe wrench I powder coated did though.

It looks rad now but I fear once it gets used it will get pretty chipped up quick.

My understanding of powder coating, which comes from guy that used to do it full time, is that it's extremely durable and will stand up to years of normal wear and tear. But if the surface gets compromised, the air and moisture will get underneath it and cause the coating to peel like a grape.

Forgive me if this sounds like a stupid question. Would the warranty become voided if the ratchet is altered like that? Curious..

It is VERY durable,I have even coated right over chrome and had no flaking issues.I am sure the warranty is void,But they will still send me free rebuild kits for life so warranty is a moot point.I bead blasted off the so called industrial coating and powdercoated and baked it myself.

First anwser: I hate the snap on industrial coating,Like I stated in my OP.It will rust if you do not keep it oiled.

Second anwser:2005 Suzuki DRZ400SM SuperMoto bike.

I asked my snap on man about warranty if I powder coated some stuff and he told me it didn't matter as long as he could still read the part number
