Most recently, Monte posted about a Petzl Pixa headlamp, and after looking into them I just had to have one! (Great purchase decision, btw).

So... what have you bought b/c of this forum? You can mention other forum-inspired purchases as well.

The 2-piece set of Irwin Griplock/Cobra clones on Black Friday for $12.49 from Sears.

Stuey--the blame for that purchase rests squarely on ur shoulder. LOLOLOLOLOL.

I surely didn't need them, but like firearms, "It's better to have one and not need it , than to need one and not have it."

I figgure I can always resell here if they collect dust for too long.

My list of tool wants/needs is pages long and made well before my introduction to GJ sadly.

This place certainly feeds the addiction tho.

Kett shears. Too good a deal to pass up. I don't have air right now (no garage), but at the price a single use at some point and they're paid for.

Wiha screwdrivers. I needed a set and would have ended up with nice drivers from somewhere anyway, but I'd never heard of this brand before.

Snap-on flare wrenches. I needed one for a project. Did my research and the overwhelming opinion is that these are the bomb.

most of my european stuff, Snap On mini boxes (my driver still hasn't heard of that promo), and all the stuff I've bought through the classifieds that I didn't know I needed till someone offered a great deal on it!!!

oh, and multiple bench vises!!!

Ugh... lots of stuff lately. I've been on a binge. Not necessarily a direct result of a post on GJ, but a direct result of surfing here:

-F80 ratchet
-Several pairs of pliers (including 2 pair Plierswrench)
-Set of Crowsfeet I may never use (cheap though!)
-Several extensions/adapters/swivels
-Stubby wrenches (the Williams ones)
-Offset wrenches
-Craftsman Thin Profile ratchets
-Wiha screwdrivers & pliers
-More sockets! Impact sockets and I don't own an impact! (yet.. LOL)

My first forum inspired purchase was an IR IQv Impact I found in the classifieds. That one kinda snowballed so now I've got 3 impacts, 2 drills and the flashlight.

Just made my first new forum inspired purchase a few days ago. A pair of hose clamp vises which Fedwrench recommended during Merks hose clamp saga :lol_hitti

I don't think the OP meant what have I bought here, but what was I inspired to buy because of GJ. Well, that would be a 42" roll away.

I have bought a couple items used from the classifieds and I probably won't do that again.

Plenty of smaller things (wrenches, ratchets) but probably the oddest buy for me was a Yost vise that was on deep discount. $175 after shipping and it sure looks nice sitting on the dining room shelf. I still use my cheapo vises for banging on.

Sorry to hear Zeke didn't have a good experience in the classified section. I've bought plenty of stuff there and never had a problem, other than smacking my forehead with my palm afterward and saying 'did I really need this?' But the items themselves were always shipped quickly and arrived exactly as they were described.

long list.

knipex pliers wrench, PI split beam torque wrenches, and the lowes deal kobalt air compressor (+ milton V fittings) are probably the most used so far.

The deals and smart purchases from the great suggestions that people (thankfully) give out has been appreciated.

I agree. Because of the vise thread and a few vise junkies around here I knew when I found a small bullet Wilton for $5 that I HAD to scoop it up and rebuilt it. I would've passed on it otherwise.

DeWalt 18V Impact Driver (DW056)

"Good" 3M electrical tape !

Snap-n-Seal IT1000 (TV cable tool; someone "borrowed" mine .. permanently !)

That hose clamp tool looks nice, but I just did a couple with Vice Grips, so I'm having a hard time "justifying" it.

I'm "jonesing" bad for a Clamp Tite ! Could be handy in many places especially with .051 stainless wire !!

Someone in the deal section mentioned 4Sevens' Black Friday sale. And so I purchased a Quark X AA tactical. Liked it so much I ordered a Preon 2. And then I of coursed needed to feed it good batteries, so I ordered AAA Eneloops. And then I checked my charger and saw that its charge rate is too high for the AAA Eneloops, and so I bought the Eneloop charger for $13.
