Take a small screwdriver or prybar and slightly bow inward the slide to release the little square tab from the hole in the box frame. Now pull up and out and it'll come right out.

On step one take a deadblow set the drawer on something solid hit the slide downward it should pop loose then pull forward to remove it from the drawer once you have these removed take them and slide them back together with the other half still in the box once they lock together bring them all the way back out to full extension make sure the box is secure so it won't fall over and start to pull up on the slide they will be tight but should pop free with some force then simply remove them from the box...clear as mud I hope

I just did all mine on a KRA, for the drawer take small flathead and put in between drawer and slide where that tab goes through and push up, or down. Should be able to clear that tab from the drawer side and it will pop out. Might take a bit of force.

For the roller part I had a L shaped pick and put it in between the two tabs and pulled the one tab back to the inside so it would push up and out.

No, this is the little tab that needs to be bowed out slightly to remove the runner:

Yes that one does. One of those tabs is in contact with the roll cab side so you can't pull up on it to remove it. Just have to figure out which one, then pull it forward some so you can push the track up. I used a stout L shaped pick to go in between and pry it in some and push up on the track at the same time.

If you don't get figured out by the evening I can kind of mock up what I did, still have a few of the old slides.

Ok, Sorry that took so long. If you haven't figured it out hopefully this will make some sense of it.
First, this is the backside of the inside piece. The one piece actually catches on the hole inside the roll cab so it can't be pulled up. Thats why you have to pull it in towards the middle. You can even see my tool mark.

Here's what I used. Pull on it and push up. The replacement's snap back in. Or if you reuse it should as well.

What the drawer piece looks like. You can see the bumps in the window of the drawer. Used to hold it in place. They're pretty tight.
web.jpg

So this would be simulating looking at the outside of the drawer where the slider is. If you pretend the work table is the side of the drawer put a slim tool in between the slide on the drawer and push up to unseat the bumps, and at the same time push down. Might take some effort and maybe some prying.

web.jpg

New slides don't have the bumps but use small screws to hold it to the drawer. The roll cab section use's screws as well now.

Hope that clears it up.

Legendary! Many many many thanks!

So the good newsvis I have now removed all the runners apart from two at the very top of the tool chest, now this is where I'm stucj again :-(

I have easily got them all out of the roll cab as once you have pulled the tab out there is enough room to push them up, but in the tool chest the top runner is tight against the roof in the box so there is no room to oush it up :-( and its the same for the runner underneath as the top runner is in the way, how did you guys get around this?

PS love the blue box! I will post pics if the above doesn't make sense, and some progress pics!

Hmmm.....trying to remember. I know it will come out as all mine have been replaced. I think instead of just pulling up on the front and sliding you do it evenly, as in pull up on the back too and wiggle it out. You also have to be careful about the order you put them back in or else you have to go back and undo. I double up a middle drawer so it would make it hard to get just one slide out.

Here's a bad lighting shot of the whole thing when I got it home.

And her final spot, minus hutch. For the time being at least

Don't have any direct experience with the KRL slides. Just replacing mine on a KRA. I was confused on those as well till my SO guy told me how to pop them off.

ok so i have worked it out and the box is all done and back together! many many thanks everyone for the help, especially Csmitty!

so to get the top rails out of the box, if you look carefully the top rail is actually held in at the front by a bolt, so you can undo the bolt and then pull the runner forward/ wiggle it a bit and it will come out. This then gives you enough room to remove the second from top runner, and then job done :)

and all complete!

I am totally stuck. I have the exact same slides as the OP, but I cannot get these stupid things out.

I spread the metal tabs that look like an automotive fuse, and can slide the runner up, but it will not pop out. I have tried nearly everything and used a TON of force. I can get the slide to move up all the way, it moves up maybe half an inch.

Any ideas?! I could really use some help!

Thanks in advance!

I've posted this a couple of times before...

First you need a tool. Snap-on makes one, but I just use this, part of a 5 piece trim removal set from Princess Auto:

The tool "installed" in the removal position. Lift up on the end of the slide in the direction of the black arrow. Note the position of the tool lined up with the rectangular hole.

The slide pivots about the points in yellow circles.

Good Luck! (It's really easy once you've done it a couple of times.)
