They run this sale several times a year, but never when you want to buy them. Just a heads up for those who are looking. Normally $19.99, they run them $14.99 on sale with the $5 rebate.

Hmmm i actually need to grab a few. Good til sunday?

Good to the 22nd. If I wasn't on a business trip, I would have picked them up last Sunday when you got the 11% MIR too :)

So is this for a T8 fixture?

Yes, it's your standard 2-bulb T8 shop light. I don't even look at the T12 stuff anymore, which started not for efficiency but for cold start performance.

These start really well in the cold, I have ~25 of them in my barn, 5 in my basement, and some in my attic as well.

This is perfect timing as I wanted to start swapping out my incandescent garage lighting with fluorescent. Think I found them on the Menards site by searching on the rebates. SKU#348-1419, correct? If so, the rebate number is 0400.

Looks like you can buy up to 4 and get $5/rebate for each.

Do you know if there is a quantity limit on the rebate?

It says on the rebate. Most of the time you only need one rebate slip for something like this. I bought a US made Irwin saw (free after MIR) at Menards a few weeks ago, and the rebate limited me to two saws.

I touched the stack of 4' dual bulb t8 fixtures at walmart last night. 10.97$ regular price.

You know these are all the same thing from the same sweat shop.

the wally world ones come in white or stainless finish-realized that after I got home with a mixed batch. Pretty sure the stainless finish is some sort of spray on . I haven't hung the stainless ones yet but have about 10 of the white ones hung.whats the best/brightest bulb for these ?

All these threads with Menards deals have me jelous. No Menards east of Ohio

Or west apparently, no menards in my area.

The SS wallyworld shop lights cost 15.97 so 50% more than the white ones but are way cooler.

All t8 bulbs make about the same light. Your only choice is color temperature, some folks like orange light and some like blue light. I'm more in the middle and seem to like a 4000k or so "cool white"

Menards used to sell a $10 or $15 normal price shop light as well, not sure if they still do. It was all metal (no plastic end caps) and had a rounded reflector. These are far nicer, and I have not had a single ballast failure or any issues in all the ones I own. It's definitely possible that they're the same or close, but I'm guessing these are a bit nicer.

Menards surprisingly is very hard to beat on price, even somehow by the products they carry that Walmart does as well.

Anyone know if these are surface mountable? Probably wishful thinking for that price but thought I'd ask.

I was wondering the same thing when I was looking at them in store...does not specify on the box but just by looking at them I would say no.

They DO have a direct wire 48" fixture for $22 made by American Fluorescent. Assembled in the US with a Phillips ballast. I picked up 4 and they are decent quality for $22.

I just noticed that as well, so I need to go a different route with flush mount/direct wire fixtures. But I may grab some for the basement.

It is a great deal. I have them in my garage for a few years and love them. They light in the winter in my cold climate.

I see you have an 07 mustang GT Convertible with a supercharger on it. Do you mind giving me a rundown on the supercharger on it! I have an 07 gt convertible also and have been thinking about buying the Edelbrock Supercharger on it! What other things did you do along with the supercharger?? Thanks!!

Ive been replacing the T12's in both of my garages and have been buying my T8's a lowes The units are 12.38 a piece and bulbs are 2 for 5.88. The units are a gloss black. Their quieter, Brighter and work better in the cold then the T12's!

I have these in my shop, hanging at the moment. . They say you need at least 3 inches of space between the ceiling and the fixture, but I have seen a couple of shop that have them surface mounted with no prob. I got the rebate at menards. I believe you can only get a rebate for 4 of them. I just changed my first name and had one rebate sent to my house, one to my parents and one to a friends house.
I have a t8 5000k bulb in them. Mu electrician told me those are the easiest on the eyes and they sem to work great for me so far.

Does anyone get RFI with these lights?

Haven't noticed anything, and I have them in my house. We listen to the radio and have all kinds of high-tech stuff going, no issues, buzzing, or anything via any of them so far.

I checked and our Menards still carries a cheaper unit for $9.72 or something, these are much nicer.

I have 8 of the on-sale Menards fixtures so far. No RFI, start fine even below zero. Not bad for a $10 fixture. I have 4 more (from a previous sale) still to put up. Rebate is typically limited to 4 at a time, but they seem to run the sale 3 or 4 times per year.

^ I just bought 10 of the $20 - 5 mail in rebate ones for my 3+ car garage. I recently purchased the house, and the garage only had a single bulb and i could barely see. So far i only have 3 of the Stainless lights hung up, but it already makes a huge difference. Still trying to figure out the lighting configuration i want to do before i hang the rest up.

I bought 4 or these a couple years ago when I moved into my new house for the garage. they don't have a pull string so I hung them and got he light bulb to power outlet adapter so they run off the switch still. works slick. love the lights. haven't had to change a single bulb yet. bang for the buck is outstanding

The Stainless looking ones Menards is selling for $20 then the $5 rebate has the pull string. But mine are wired off a secondary switch together, so i just left the pull strings ******* and out of the way.

I now have seven of these waiting to be installed. Bought some last fall, and got the rest a few days ago. I also picked up two dozen Buyer's Choice T8 bulbs while I was at Menards for another $30. They're made in the USA and have been great in my basement for the past two years.

Not to get some wiring done and get these lights hung up!

we had a couple of those 14.99 light in our shop a year or two ago. They work good with t12s but better with the t 8s we got for free.

I put 4 of these in my garage... made a world of difference over my old single t12 and 2 incandescents. plus these are cold start which my t12 would never start right in the cold or the humid weather. Instead of going a "hardwiring" route i just put new receptacles by each light. That way the lights can be moved easily and the spare outlet can be used for a droplight or whatever.
