Strictly Tool Boxes Review

I'm new to GJ. I found it when searching online for reviews on the Montezuma boxes. It was very helpful to read reviews from people that have purchased these boxes and also commented on their experience with Strictlytoolboxes.com (STB).

I originally planned on doing a review of the box here, but Nissan Crawler's review is better than anything I could write. Instead I decided to write about the experience with STB. I think all of the positive comments about Shannon are well deserved. It really helped ease the fear of making a purchase like this without seeing the box in person first.

I PM'd Shannon from GJ to ask him about possible discounts on the 56" 21 drawer box I wanted. It seems any discounts come down to shipping costs from either Kansas or Florida. I'm a 1000 miles away from either, so there were no discounts to be had. Shannon worked with me to find a solution. He said that he had a scratch and dent that he could shave a bit off. He said there were just minor scratches on the bottom of the top chest that wouldn't likely show up when installed on the bottom chest. Again, I was nervous about doing this without seeing the scratches, but the reviews of working with Shannon made me feel confident it would work out.

I placed my order and the box was sent out the same day. I got the box 5 days later via FedEx. I was able to call Fedex and schedule the lift gate delivery to my house. They brought the box in a semi that he parked in front of my house. There is a bit of an incline up my driveway, so I helped him push the boxes into my garage with a pallet jack. It took a couple of tries, but we got it in there.

STB sent some great instructions that helped facilitate things. They give specific instructions tailored to the type of box you order. This speeds up the inspection process as you know exactly what to do. I was worried the FedEx guy would give me a hard time about unboxing everything to inspect the tool chest, but I had everything off by the time he got the paperwork from his truck.

The pallet had a little damage which was my stated excuse for doing the inspection. The FedEx guy was perfectly fine with allowing me to do it. There was no damage. Shannon was right that I cannot even see the scratches on the top chest. It was a great purchase. I am happy both with the Montezuma chest and the buying process with STB. Thanks Shannon!

I'm hoping to get the same 56" 21 drawer box later this year myself. After reading the reviews on here and looking over the website several times. I haven't found anything comparable for the money anywhere.

I think it's a great value. I did check out the HF box. I would put it a tier below the Montezuma, but it costs a lot less too. It seemed fine in person, but I was scared off by the fact that they only had something like a 90-day warranty on the HF box. There are many people on this site that have the HF box and like it. It seems like every time I try to cheap out on a purchase instead of getting what I want, I wind up regretting it. I don't have any regrets with the Montezuma purchase.

STB box looks great, I've emailed Shannon a few times and he's always been very nice. You should be happy with that box for years to come. ;)

I was looking at buying (2) HF 13 drawers, I am very glad I switched to the Montes.

Great write up. Thanks for the info. What kind of discount does the scratch and dent get you?
