got it given to me, was dad's when he first started mechanicing 38 years ago, how rare is it, i havent seen the mac stamped into handles before

That style of box was made for years, but a person rarely see one made before the early 80's. Those where the days when a man could buy Mac with pride.

Thanks, it's stamped as a mb-507 model
Made in USA 72, I have the base for it as well
But it needs the doors fixed

I've been tracking down some Snap On Toolboxes of late and now will have to set my sites on an older MAC as well! Very nice and most importantly it was your Dad's.

Yeah that means more to me than anything else, I would never
Try to restore it or take the motorcraft sticker off it's just how
I remember it, I can remember being a kid and looking at all his
Tools in it 25 years ago, has sentimental value
Dang thing weighs like 100 lbs empty too

I've had the Proto version for many years with the Proto name on the handles. Bought it brand new in the 80's. Exact same box and a very stout box to be sure.
