Bored today on my day off, so I got to thinking.....I have a whole mess of colors and really could not care what color tools I buy (it is 2012 after all, color should not matter:bounce:)

So here's the thread for all the misfits and people who do not match their tools to their Prada handbags!:lol_hitti

A small sampling of my "colors", none of which are a complete set.....

great thread idea

i dont think i have a complete set of colored handle screwdrivers anymore.
if i do they are in 3 different places/toolboxes.

only thing i like matching, or color coordinated, are the wifes undies/shoes/purse

Funny but I am color blind, I never did get the craze for all the different colors but too each his own I guess.

I learned two things along the way:

One if you get enough dirt on them they will all turn dark in color , and two I could see making something in a bright neon like color so I would not forget to find it ;( in or on ) the project that I am working on.

Uncoordinated makes it easier to find the one you need.

never thought about it that way, but that seems about right.

i have exactly 2 good screwdrivers in my work box, orange SO flat blade, and a blue SO #2 phillips.

only time i use the flat blade is for fuel bleed screws, good thing it's orange, my hands are usually covered in grease and oil.
i dont see too many #2 phillips screws anyway.

What's the brand of the 3/8 spinner with the gray handle?

I like green myself, but I have all sorts of different color screwdrivers and such. most common color for me is probably red.

There you have it, folks. The first person on this board that doesn't have a color preference for Snap-on handles.

Snap ON.

I would actually prefer the bright colors for sake of finding the tool, but no way in hell would I ever pay more or pass up a deal based simply on color!

Crusty old guys don't always appreciate colors, convenience and aren't sure about progress. On a race engine forum I visit one older top engine builder calls the modern hydraulic roller cams "girly cams" and refuses to build an engine using them. Real men use solid roller race cams.

Recently, I was on a tool truck where a couple of young guys were excitedly debating the merits of colored hard handles and various fluorescent color boxes. One old tech came on and the two young guys gave him a hard time about his old box with most of the paint worn off and when was he going to get one of the new yellow ones. He bought one piece and as he left, muttered to the truckie, "These days in the shop, it's all computers, wimmen, fags and purty colors for tools, but they always ask me how to fix the hard ones."

Yep, this about sums it up.

I've got some Instinct soft handles that are green. Other than that, they are pretty much all black.
