Dirt pad was finished yesterday.
I am starting a 30x40 with 12ft sidewalls, and a 20ft enclosed shed down the 40 ft sidewall.

Restrictions where I am building say it has to be a single family dwelling, so I am putting in a living area in the 20x40 shed.

Gober Construction in Oklahoma is building the pole barn. They should start in about 4 weeks.

Open to any suggestions before the build.

Thanks,
Shawn

Here are a couple of shots of the dirt work.

ShelbyDodgeFan,
I will post more pics when the building is up.

I love the Dak vert, it is my daily driver. Do you have any Shelby Dodges? I would love to find a Shelby Dak or 83-84 Shelby Charger.

I am midway in a 30' x 40' build in Moore, Oklahoma if you want to check out mine for ideas. The link is in my signature. Glad to see another Okie build going on.

Nice build, FltEngCPO, and nice cars also! I am thinking my first project will be my 68 Stang. It needs a full resto.

I used to have a bunch of shelbys, but none currently, kids will do that. My first truck was a 1989 dakota. Always wanted a convertable, but never was able find one in good shape.

I'll be watching this one, will be interesting to see how you fool the city with the living area thing.

Did the Dakota really come factory as a soft top? Never seen one before yours.

Mm

The Dakota is a factory convertible, Dodge had ASC convert them.

No need to fool the city, it will have a full kitchen and bath with 600sq ft of living area.

Started framing today for the bathroom. I am going to get the bathroom done, and then work on the rest of the living area as money allows.

Kitchen area will be to the left of the restroom, and will leave a 20x20 living room area. I put a few cabinets out to mock up a corner of the kitchen.

Started building walls dividing the shop and apartment.

Also figured out the kitchen layout with my 1950's metal cabinets.

Looking at kitchen from bathroom. The opening straight ahead is where the stove will go. the open space to the left will be an under counter fridge.

Thanks guys! The cabinets were a Craigslist score. The guy bought a $200,000 house for the lot it was on. The house was built in 1956, and the cabinets were repainted once. I hope to be able to just touch them up and not do a full repaint. I got the cabinets out for $500 before he tore the place down.

Looks like I will have several tall cainets left over. I am thinking about using a sink base as a workbench, with a tall cabinet on each side, similar to soem antique work stations someone posted a while back. I loved the look of the workstations, but can't afford one.

The posts are 10 foot on center, and the wall girts are 2x4's except there is a 2x6 used because of the wainscoating.

The next two pictures are where I want to build a door so I can pull my wifes MG into the living area. Any ideas of the best type of doors for an eight foot opening that will seal off properly? I also want it to be easy to use as a door into the shop.
