I posted this in my build thread but would like some more exposure. I have posted some pictures of my current 200 Amp farm service panel but would like to see some 320 to 400 Amp service setups. If anyone has some internal/ close-ups it would be appreciated.

Let me tell you. This weather is wild. Again over 20 celcius and we are currently having our first thunder storm. This is March in Manitoba if anything we should be seeing our last blizzard. I am sure the shop is flooded as I still hove no roof per say.

I am thinking about starting a tread on electrical service. I am figuring I will need to upgrade to 400 amp service. The house has a 200 amp panel we are running electric forced air inside. Everyone at work says that I should be looking for 200 Amp for the shop. I am going to get some pictures of my service pole tomorrow but I would like to see some 400 amp farm service distribution panels.

I wonder how much that is going to set me back???

So here are some pictures of my electrical service.

200 Amp farm service supplied underground.

I have 400 amp service to my house, service comes in to a 400amp meter base, then on each side I have a 200 amp outdoor subpanel, 1 goes to the shop and 1 goes to the house, it's dark or I'd put up a pic, I will get one in day light.

That would be great. Thanks.

Hello neighbor. I've got the same pole transformer as you (same POCO), cables dip down underground to my house. I've got 2 Siemens 200 amp 40/80 service panels double tapped from the meter. I have a pic of the rough in before the meter went in somewhere. I remember it was red/black/blue/ground individual cable.

For those who do not know, SWER, is Single Wire Earth Return.

I did some reading on this last night I had never heard of this or even thought of it before. It appears that Saskatchewan and Manitoba (there may be others) run this system in rural areas to reduce costs. I learned something new.
