I'm looking for a quality set of "easy read" decals for my sockets. I'd prefer something that didn't fall off easily and stands out. I've looked on ebay but I don't want low quality home printed stuff.

I'm at the age of needing reading glasses just to see the sizes on my sockets and it's not fun.

I'd need them to go from 4mm all the way to 36mm and the same range in SAE sizes.

Thanks for any help.

Will label tape that Brother uses for its labeling machines work? If you've used one, you know that the tap is multi-layer with a special clear cover tape over the printing to keep solvents away from ink. I think the adhesive is pretty strong. I wonder if it would stand up to being used as a hand tool in an oily, greasey, gasolinish environment.

I'm getting the Brother PT1290 for my chrome sockets and my wrenches.

Probably getting the Facom inserts for my Impacts.

Thanks for the help.

Reviving an old thread: I would also like some thin quality stickers for both wrenches and sockets.

My young son is having a hard time reading sizes and my eyes are not getting any better either.

Years ago I got some from Groits garage and they sucked, they were so thick it actually caused clearance issues.

Anybody use something they like? If so why do you like them, and where did you get them.

Maybe you should buy some of those color coated sockets from HF. I don't know what kind of stuff you work on but there is no way in hell those would last a week in a automotive environment. Those inserts are going to get dirt, oil, grease, chemicals anything behind them and are gonna fall off and the ones on the outside are gonna wear off the first time it rubs against something.

Make your own. Check out hobby stores or online hobby sites for Testor's Decal paper. It comes in White or Clear. Get white, and print out your own labels on your inkjet. use the setting spray they have as well, it sets the ink. Put them on your sockets the same way you would on plastic model kits. Then seal it all with clear Krylon spray.

Keep the file you create for the labels, and re-apply when they get scuffed off.

That's what I'm thinking. Maybe he just uses them on bicycles or small handyman type stuff around the house?
