It is set for a price point, and adding gas struts would increase that price. It is a good tool box for the DIY. It does the job of storing and let's you sort the them as well. There are better, but price increase as well.

Thanks. I'm looking strictly from a DYI/weekend warrior perspective. It seems better constructed than similar units at Home Depot or Lowes.

Some of the hd and lowes lower end stuff are cheaper, but that is why they are not made well. I saw a box for 70 dollars at hd. But you get a box that is worth 70 dollar. But it does the job for some DIY guys.

I looked at them when I was shopping for boxes this winter (had one at NAPA.) It was a very nice box for the price. They are a good step up from thin Craftsman. I have noticed some motorcycle techs use them with no problems.....they aren't super hard on a box though. 100% better then the HD box and about 50% better then the Kobalts (slides are better on the Homak.) Only really downside is they are Chinese made (I can't remember where I red that.) Thats the reason I went with International. Which are Canadian made....they are not SO box but about the same as Homak.

Thanks. They look very nice for the price but I never see anything on here about them.

Who sells the International brand?

Too bad you're not in Vegas. I have a Homak box similar to that with the bottom unit too. Selling it for $200. It has served me well for many years. I just replaced it with a Lista cabinet.
