-V- markings were used even in the 70's so that is likely a mix and match set, even if part of it is from the early 60's, which I doubt.

from the 1973 catalog, box and all...

And its supposed to be a 28 piece set including the box, it's missing the cross bar for the breaker bar and the 13 x 15 box end.

So assuming this stuff is NOS unused what would I pay for it?
Box $30
Ratchet $30
Breaker $10
Speed Handle $20
Wrenches $3 each x 11 $33
Extensions $10 for both
Sockets $2 each x 9 $18

Dang that's $151. A dollar more than they are asking. Sigh you guys make me spend money.

Well for those of you who havn't guessed I bought this set. It arrived today. Since I was wondering if I overpaid for a mismatched set of old and new or NOS (New Old Stock) from the 1960's I eagerly tore into the cardboard box and unwrapped everything. And the drum roll........

This is the nicest set of vintage tools I have ever bought!
I believe it is NOS from the 1960's since the box had two latches.
The box had some scuffs on the outside from handling through the ages but is still extremely nice.
All the tools match in condition and style. "V" series without a part number. Most of the tools are =V= but the smaller wrenches are -V- (box end 6/8 MM, 7/9 MM, 10/11 MM, 12/14 MM, open end 6/8 MM, 7/9 MM, 10/11 MM)
No sign of this stuff ever being used.
Yeah it was expensive but I am happy!
Here's a picture from the Epstein ad, will try to get more posted.
This is the first time I have bought vintage Craftsman tools that I was wondering if I should use or not....

Now I need to sell some extra tools to pay my credit card bill.....
