I got the lift all set up a few weeks ago and recently made up some simple accessories to make day to day use easier.

First the jack tray. I may eventually get a rolling jack, but for now I will use this. I made it as wide as my jackstands and the center jack plate slides back and forth to wherever its needed.

Next the under runway tray. It slides fore and aft and is just a convienant place to put tools while working under a car. I keep a flashlight in there full time.

Third, the ramps. I usually want them down, but wanted a simple way to hold them up at times. Drilling only 2 holes in each ramp, a light spring, and a length of 1" angle came up with this. It works well, and the best part is as the lift reaches the ground, the ramps come up just a fraction and release the stays, automatically resetting them to hang down with the next up cycle.

I thought you all might like a look.

Nice ideas...I'm finishing up my shed. Will send some pictures when I get the floor painted.

What kind of jack do you use on the lift? From the looks of it, a bottle jack may work out pretty good in the center for most cars.

The spring load ramp stay is a great idea.

For now just a cheap bottle jack. If I end up keeping it long term I may get and air over bottle jack and/or a nice scizzor jack.

Thanks, and sharing it here for use was the whole point.

Are you confident the crossmember is strong enough for a point load like a bottle jack?

I don't know the USA dimensions of angle iron and they do look solid enough, but you'll better be more than 100% certain for such things...

Other than that, great ideas, especially the trays.

Yes, I'm sure. It is all 1/4" steel. The main cross members are 2" X 1/4" angle.

Kudos on using the storage area under the ramp without the cylinder, that's where I keep my long flat bar and round stock, PVC, and other stuff I want out of sight and don't use often.
