Has anyone ever used this stuff? If so would you use it again? I am worried because it says Decorative Concrete Color, and it will be on my garage floor. I would want to cover it with a clear epoxy of some sort... Help!!!!! Before I make a mistake (Please).
Thanks as always

Are you looking at an Acid stain or an Acrylic Stain? They are two different things and your title says Acid but you description sounds like acrylic.

There is a big difference between them...

I did Acid Stain in my Basement floor. It was ideal as I have radiant heat in the floors, and my wife breeds dogs, so there are pups around always. I got from ConcreteDepot.net. Real easy to do, and cheap. The Pic doesn't really do it justice but here it is. As I understand it the acid causes a chemical reaction with the the concrete and literally changes the color the top 1/8" to 1/4" of the concrete. My view is durability would be all about how you seal it (for the basment I just used an clear acrylic sealer). I thought about doing it in the garage, but decided on something different.

You'd want to be careful about using an H2O Acrylic on a garage floor. Most of these lower cost products do not have resistance to chemicals, abrasion, and hot tires. It should work pretty well in a basement... and... you could always wax it.

I just finished my living room with quickrete etching stain. Coffee color It was a lot of work, slab is 22 years old. Lots of glue because we had carpet glued down at one time. Most of the glue was gone but it was still a lot of work getting the remainder off. Make sure and get a respirator if you do anything inside you will need it. I finally rolled glue mastic all over the slab and then pressure washed it about 15 times/ When I finished cleaning the slab and following all directions with the bond lock degreaser that you have to use with the etching stain,I stained the floor. It dried finally. It was orange and yellow. Needless to say I panicked, thought I was going to have to go and get paint to cover up the mess. A friend of mine said to try the sealer in a corner somewhere and see what that did. It did the trick. Sealer will turn the orange into a deep chocolate brown. You will need a respirator for the sealer. It is extremely strong. It said it would dry in 2 hours. Not so 8 hours later it still is not dry enough for me to put the 2nd coat on. Fans are blowing everywhere. Temperature here in Louisiana is about 98 degrees. I am not looking forward to putting on the second coat because the fumes are unbearable. Stink goes all through the house. Will put another coat on tomorrow then going to leave and go to the movies and shopping until it dries. Will try and post pics soon
