I know a lot of people have used them, but how far expired can you go? I was thinking of trying the 299 coupon for the 41" tool box bottom.

It all depends on the individual manager. I walked in two days late to get a deal on a carbide wheel tool grinder. I spoke to the manager and he honored the deal. I saved $40, plus I was a happy customer and will definitely go back often.

Customer service is key. I doubt my local SEARS guy would have done that.

I just bought the complete 41" set and they would not take them at my local store but I did use 20% and 15% off coupons to help the cause. It won't hurt to try.

I got that coupon too, I planned to take full advantage of both if I can find a HF manager that will be overly kind to me.

When I got my HF box in Dec, they let me use the $299 coupon that had expired almost a full month before, and stack a 20% off on top of it to get the bottom box for $230 something and then use a 15% off for the top box that was also on sale. :bounce: Store is really nice about taking coupons though. Seems they are happy for you to come in and buy stuff - store is always pretty busy.

I'll have to call and see if they will be nice.

I think your chances are better asking in person-
Try to push it as a rain check- thell them that it was out of stock when they had the coupon-

I bought my box right before Christmas- However, I actually did request a rain check on the last day of the coupon expiration date.
Coincidentally, I picked up the the top chest to go along with the bottom roller yesterday afternoon.

Did they print something out for your raincheck or did they just write on the coupon?

They just filled out a little rain check slip/form they had-
Basically has the item description, item # price
The rain check slip specifies to bring the old ad - but they didn't bother checking.

I was able to use the 15% coupon at the time of purchase on the $299 roller.
I ended up paying $260 out the door since the $15% discounted based on the $399 price tag :)

I still have a stack of the old no expiration 20% off coupons. I TRIED to use one at my local store, in Montclair CA. Store manager came over and said they don't send out 20% off anymore, due to "rampant internet forgeries" (who me?) I said I had a 15% off in the car (didn't really), and he said he'd honor the 15% off. Walked out a happy customer anyway. Better than 0% off right?

Don't need anything big right now anyway. Maybe a make a few copies of my 15% off coupon to keep around.

How much did you get the top chest for? I'm looking to get it sometime soon.
