Used Snap-on box pricing?

I paid $2500 for my teal KRL-761 with a stainless top maybe 10 years ago. The box was like new then. Now I am looking for one for my son as a gift and found what I think is a pretty sweet deal on one of the newer style KRL boxes. Its a gloss black KRL722APC and looks to be nearly new.

Its an hour+ drive from me and seller is willing to accept $1000 cash this weekend. I would love to give this to my son as a gift. The box retails on the Snapon site for over $5k but I just need a reality check before I pull the trigger and commit. Box reportedly has a small scratch on the side. This seems like a crazy good deal but I havent been watching CL prices but for the last week or so.

$1000 sounds like a killer deal to me for the 722 model. I would jump on it.

Holy smokes, at $1000 I'm really surprised you took the time to type out a post here because I would be in my truck heading there as soon as I could. As long as it's in good shape with no major issues beyond typical wear I think that's an amazing deal. I hope you get it.

Good enough. I know these are probably considered luxury items with Harbor Freight and Sams selling much cheaper wanna-be boxes. I just wasnt sure if they had dropped to this level everyday. Will post up pics once we pick it up.

If that was within driving distance of me, it would not be there for you to pick up tomorrow. That is a very good price for that model.

[/IMG]You are getting a good deal. I am in OKC and if I leave right this instance, I can race u there and beat ya to it. But being that there is no tools involved in the deal, I will pass. Let me know what your price range is on a 3 bank, and if you have a color preference. I have opportunities that the average joe does not have, and these deals are not advertised on cl for a reason. Example. 3 months ago I purchased a extreme green KRL 1023 for 2200. Sold it that same day to the guy who had been searching for one. I find those kind of deals all the time, so the extra 2 hrs to OKC might just be worth it for you if I can find what u are looking for.

Sorry bout the crappy pics. Those were taken with my phone to make sure it would do for the guy who was wanting one. Usually I will take a 5 minute video and open all drawers, walk all the way around it, and explain the good and any bad with it. This one had an asking price of 2800. I paid 2200 cash and sold it to the guy that same evening after his shift. I know where there are some yellow boxes and a couple of the royal blue boxes. I have ways of negotiating the price down. This is how I make a living so I have to be good at doing this. PM me if you are seriously looking for a 3 bay and want to come see what OKC has to offer.

Thanks. My original plan was to upgrade to a 3bay and hand down my teal KRL to him. However I dont think my son was that crazy about teal so this deal is a better fit for us.

Was looking for a teal or other high impact color in a triple bank box. I have the stainless top on mine now and would sure like to find one to go on the new box.

Picked it up awhile ago and dropped off at my sons house. The seller and his wife and brother were some of the nicest people you will ever meet.

It was a great father and son moment when I told him right there before we loaded it that it was for him. I forgot to mention his car and truck are both black so a win on all fronts.

Thanks for all the advice and encouragement here.

One of the best things about buying a snap-on box, is everytime you open it, you think: "dang, that's a well built box".

Congrats on the purchase.

Yep, agreed. Expensive but quite possibly the last box he will ever need to buy. Thanks again all
