I've been looking for an older 1/2 hp Craftsman grinder - but when I saw this set up I had to have it.

Here's the story: A guy bought this 1/3 hp grinder and attachments from the widow of the original owner. It was new in the box. He hooked up the grinder but never really used it. He offered it for $40 on Craigslist. No takers, so he lowered it to $30. Now I'll give it a good home. I'll still keep my eye out for a larger one but I really dig this one.

Here's the box:

I would guess that the 2-64 means that this was made in February of 1964?

Here's the sanding attachment:

None of this has been installed, the hardware and sanding discs are still in the original bags:

And here's the tool sharpener attachment. It's never been out of the box (the staples are still holding it together).

And finally, here's the grinder.

It wasn't even put together all the way.

The shatter proof glass stickers are still in place.

My only problem is that I'll feel a little bad if I actually use it.

strange in all my tool hunts I have yet to see nos items at someones house, but I would say you made out like a bandit.

I can't believe nobody bought it before I did. Maybe his original Craigslist post didn't have pictures? Or the price was so low that everybody skipped it without looking?

Yeah... feeling pretty good about this purchase. It makes up for the inflated price of my drill press a few weeks back.

Seriously? Never? I find things NOS fairly regularly. I don't always buy them but... :dunno:

I just realized something, the tool rests don't have grinding wheel shaped notches in them. Looks like the previous owner of my block grinder got them a little too close. :D

Wow. That think is totally awesome. You can't even buy a tiny Harbor Freight grinder for that price. And that Craftsman will probably run for another 100 years!!!
