ATP here with a lot of tools, but I don't work on aircraft. Used to spend a lot of time in an FBO maintenance hangar though. That's where I saw my first crow foot wrench, The Snap On truck was a regular, and I learned about safety wired fasteners.

11 years in Texas as an engineer. Just spent 9 weeks pushing tools during this IAM strike.

ALOT of the temporary workers they brought in were all A&P certified...and some DANG good mechanics.

Still have my mine. But haven't been real active lately. I really miss the work but around here jobs in that field are hard to find. But I haven't gave up hope.

Not an A&P but I owe my life to the best A&P's that I have worked with for the last 15 years. I have held many a flashlights or handed tools or a cold bottle of water to them, while we were on a ramp broken down or in a hangar during an inspection. I have learned more about the aircraft that I have flown through the A&P's than anybook or class. Thanks for all your hard work.

12 years here. All commercial Douglas, airbus, Boeing products. Some heavy maintenance but a lot of flight line stuff. I was laid off in 09 and changed careers for a few years, but ended up back in a hangar last year.

14 years here, all Helicopters. Pretty much all Bell helicopters. Most of it is component overhaul for a oilfield 135 company. 2 years at a aerospace repair facility that overhauls piece parts for engines, transmissions and so forth.

6 years avionics tech in the USAF and one year working cargo planes civi convinced me I prefer flying a desk. More job security, less physical punishment, and I make more money!

God bless the career guys, it is not an easy life.

40 years in the bid-ness, this past spring; A&P, IA, formally DME & DAR, settled in to a nice, low stress Corporate job with a C500 Citation, R44 II Helicopter, Cessna 421C, & Beech 95-B55. Two more years til retirement!!!
Passed on a Job with Dave Zeuschel in '73 to be closer to the "love of my life". I chose poorly.

Canadian AME, M2 (no, not a medical examiner). I actually planned to pick up my A&P last year but didn't get around to it, and I doubt I'll have time to do it this year. Also I hope to get my AME M1 this year, it's just a paperwork thing at this point.

I hold courses for Bell 205, 212, and 407, along with Eurocopter AS350 (with 1 series arriel engine). However, I lack a PT6T course, so I'm not much good on a 212. Hopefully I'll get the PT6 course sometime this year so I have signing authority on 212. It would also be nice if I could get a LTS-101 course or a 2 series arriel course.

I avoid working on planes!

23 years and counting. I started out in the U.S. Navy (4 years) working on F-14 Tomcats. I was in a sea going squadron (VF142 Ghostriders) so I worked on the flight deck as a troubleshooter for my last cruise and I was in the airframes shop for my first cruise. When we weren't on a carrier we were stationed in Virginia Beach. After that I went to work on freighters (YS-11's, DC8,DC9 and B767's) as a structures technician and later as a fuel systems technician. Got layed off in May of 2009. July of 2009 I went to work on passenger jets (Embraer 145,170 and 190's) as a structures tech. Now I'm a structures lead for the same company.
