My Garage Rebuild

I've been looking at this site for a while and have been inspired to redo my crummy garage, which has been nothing but a storage area for the Past nine years.

I am a Triumph motorcycle fan and wanted to incorporate the Union Jack flag to show my love for British bikes. So far I have texture the walls and painted. I am going to install some T-8 lighting in the next couple of days and then install cabinets and workbench next week If time permits.

So here it is so far:

Thanks for looking!

Oooh - is that an old jeep back there? Lets see more of that!

I like the start with the flag - keep going!

(Not sure if it's the case, but my phone camera lens was dirty and I had the same fuzzy photo's. Might try wiping out real good?)

Yes that is a 1947 jeep willys that I got from my grandfather. I need to restore her but the garage comes first. And yeah there was definetly some on my phone camera lens :eyecrazy:

I'll take some more photos of the jeep and post them up.

Started to install the lighting I was going to go with four 8-foot fixtures but decided six would be better I hope to have them all mounted by tomorrow.

The garage is approximately 500 sf.

Got the light in and installed Phillips 5000k bulbs with an 85 color index. I wired a switch for the two fixtures that will be blocked by the garage when it's open so I can turn them off if I ever wanted.

How are those Seville Classic cabinets? They seem like a great unit for the money but I have never seen one in real life.
Nice work on the garage.

I Think they are pretty solid and the price at Sams Club is a great buy. It takes some time putting them together but so far I have nothing but good things to say.

I have them in my garage as well - I like them, they arent super heavy duty but I think they are 60 bucks a side or something - great value in my opinion. For a ******** garage guy they wouldnt be sturdy enough but for the average guy wanting to organize things, put some tools away etc they are great. I also have a couple of the standing cabinets which are also great ($200 each i think). I finished one out with slatboard inside to hide away all the rakes, shovels, brooms etc.

So I went with a darker gray on the wall and I'm really happy with the result. I tried orange and it was way too intense.

Your 1947 jeep is actually an early 1942 seeing as it has an iron grill, that grill was only used on the first 10000 jeeps built for WW2. Bill

Thanks for the info! I could have swore the title said 1947.... I inherited the jeep from my grandfather and all I know is it used to be used on an air force base. My cousin and brother also recieved a willys and my lucky Dad got a fully restored Bantam.

Here is a website my grandfather made to showcase the Bantam years ago:

It's been a while since I posted an update but I've been busy. I built a powder coat spray booth, large oven, and installed a compressor. If I never pop another rivet in my life ill be happy man.
