I bought this Rockwell Delta drill press that I found on Craigslist. The seller bought it used 15 years ago and brought it down to Florida from Michigan. I paid $100 for it and since it is an older Made in the U.S.A. tool and not a Chicom HF machine I feel like I did OK.

It is a 120 volt motor with a Cutler Hammer start-stop button. Other than a name tag with a serial number 123-6972 I cannot find a model number or any other info about this.

Can anybody tell me any additional information about this? How old is it? Can I get a instruction or parts manual somewhere ?

thanks in advance, John

Thank you for the machinery web site.

The name tag says Pittsburg 8, Pennsylvania. That alone should give an indication of the age. That 8 is something like a postal ZIP code. I think Zip stated about 1964 or so. Prior to Zip codes, many addresses were something like Columbus 15, Ohio or Jacksonville 6 , Fl .

The electric cord is cracked in a few places so I will install a new one.

This drill press is pretty heavy ! It's parked next to my 1936 FERO Air Pump.

I would have given $100 for that, good deal and it looks in good shape.
Now go drill some holes in something with it

Nice find on the drill press. Mine was a ton of work to restore but it will be worth it in the end. Yours looks like a light clean will make it very usable.
Your drill was made in: 1959 123-5060 - 125-9707
It looks like the 14 inch model.

Thank you for the comments !

I will add this other blog to this so people can see the difference. I believe this restoration might be the Deluxe model whereas mine is the basic model without an idler pulley. I believe mine once had plastic balls on the ends of the handles too.

this restoration is absolutely an A+ job :

I might have to do mine now !
