Thanks to all for the great ideas and motivation to get this done. The only thing I regret is not having a bigger space, but that's not an option. I think I was able to maximize the space I have, make it very comfortable, and not crowd it too much so it is still very effective for what I want.

Even my wife likes it out there. My youngest son pulls out the Clorox wipes whenever she enters so she doesn't "girl up the place". All in fun and I'm really enjoying have a place to go.

Thanks again for all the ideas I've gleamed off of this site. Race Deck was really nice to deal with and is a highlight of the project. Someone is going to ask me when is it going to get dirty. I enjoy keeping things clean and don't have the skills to tear down a motor, and don't really want them. Just a place to tinker like I love to do, take care of some oil changes, and act like I know what I'm doing (in between episodes of Bar Rescue of course).

FYI, the space is 12' x 20'. It was a 3 car garage, I walled off the singel car side, put in a pocket door, and you can see the rest.

It looks great! I'm always surprised how big some garages look, but then realize one bike takes up a lot less space than a car.

Where did you get the Thor decal?

It's a sign. Got it from a motocross retail shop that closed locally. Asked him if I spent a certain amount during his going out of business sale, could I have the sign of my choice for free. It worked, but I hated to see the shop close.

Looks great and a lot bigger than a one car the way you have it laid out. But more importantly what did you do with the rest of the garage space? My fear is that it was converted to "living space", say it isn't so when what you should be doing is turning more of the "living space" into shop space. Wood shop? Machine Shop? Garage space for classic or muscle cars? At the very least tell us it remained garage space that can be turned into to shop space in the future.

Very well done.

I'm currently building my own version (10x16) as a motorcycle man cave and I'm after a similar look as yours.

Great job,

The "other side" commonly called the two car side is finished as well, but does not have the Race Deck floor. It also has its own heater and could be occupied within hours of a finalized divorce. With Race Deck's great deal I may be doing the floor with the 2013 budget. My wife loves the floor and that's 90% of getting to that point. The "other side" is currently occupied by her car, a mower, and a few bicycles. I also put two of the four bulbs on a motion detection switch so when she pulls in or out, she has amazing light to move in. Much better than the single bulb on the garage door opener. I call that the princess treatment. The mower goes into storage during the winter and I'll park in there with her. It will be nice to have the snow melted off, etc. when coming and going.

Really nicely done. The space I'm building right now is the same size (12'x20') and you've given me some nice ideas -- I'm going to have to go the RaceDeck route now, just so you know. Looks so nice and clean in there.

Old thread, worth a bump. Amazing what you come up with in the archives lol

Any updates on the single op? I'm going to be starting a single for my motorcycle
