We closed today! Here are a couple pictures of my new project.

I'm going to raise the water softener off the ground and epoxy coat the floor this weekend.

Then:

Electrical
Lights
Raise garage door

I'm sure this list will grow.

Boat is going to go under the lean-to next to the garage after I pour concrete there. I want to be able to pull in under cover with the tower up.

Started cleaning the floor and etched the concrete.

I was wondering what anyone else has done about the expansion joint against the curb or brick. Once I pour the epoxy, I don't want the edge to look bad.

Insulate and drywall the other half and paint. Thinking about 2 tone with a chair rail.

I think for the edge I'm going to glue in flex base moulding.

Tossed by hand. It went well, but I don't think each bag was divided very equally. I'll probably hang insulation tonight and maybe get drywall up by the end of the week.

Salisbury, nc here. What brand epoxy did you use? about the joints: I have seen a flexible caulk used there and painted over. It was a black roofing type, maybe asphalt based. A couple of tape strips, caulk and smooth, peel the tape while its still soft. Cure and paint. Not sure what the epoxy would do over that but paint has held up perfectly.

I used epoxy-coat without a clear coat and ran it right over the joints. Luckily they were only between the foundation and the floor. No other joints to deal with.

Sorry I have been slow on the progress updates, had to fly to Chicago 2 weeks ago, keep wakeboard lessons going, moved all our stuff in last weekend, and replace a timing cover gasket on the land rover, garage work has come to a halt!

Now with a pile my garage contents in the middle of the floor plus my new riding mower I will start electrical, insulation, and sheet rock this week. Wife says first I need to hang the TV in the livingroom, so I started work on that last night.

Had a wakeboard event on Saturday so I didn't get started on the garage till late Sunday Morning. Got my stairs patched up and painted, and mounted boxes and started my romex work for the work bench area. Should be able to finish outlets and get tied in tonight and start hanging insulation.

Just a progress updates. My parents came down from Chicago for the weekend, and my dad was eager to help me get some drywall up, so we knocked it out. I got some all purpose up, need to sand and get some lightweight on to finish this weekend. Getting closer each week.

Looks great, you make fast work of it. Thanks for sharing!

Did you paint the stripe of go with a strip of wood? You mentioned a chair rail above.

Color combo is simple and effective. Looks very good.

Hi from Burlington, soon to be in Eastern Chatham Co. Nice job on the garage. I want to compliment you on the paint especially. There are a lot of garages with gray/black on white. But there are not tooo many who accent it with the brick border. Very nice. keep the pics coming. Rick

Thanks all! I ended up painting on the black stripe. After brushing up the brick, it was in such good shape I decided to leave it uncovered thanks for noticing.

More pictures coming soon, I have some shelves for my wakeboard equipment going up. (Painted them tonight) Also, I am cleaning up the space from the drywall to the brick with some leftover 2x4's I painted.

Looking great. That brick under the sill plate is fantastic! So then you can just hose the floor out without any problem. The brick will look great against most any finishes. Keep your thread going so we can see all the great transformation your making.

I'm swimming in Wakeboard, Wakesurf, and boat stuff this winter. I had a horizontal rack that I needed to change up for more floor space.

Putting down some Masonite on my workbench, hung an old plasma monitor and put up a couple shelves tonight. More organizing and cleaning tomorrow.
