I picked up a Hazet double open end wrench at the flea market. It is 9 & 11mm. It says B-16. Is this anything special, did it come in a car kit?

Any help is appreciated.

Wow.. This is very very old.

The "azet" with non capitals and underlined by straight line. means that the tool is before 1960.

I guess the wrench belong to a tool kit like this.

http://esp.ebay.com/viewItem?item=170835873495&v=gbh

You can see a "Hazet b-18" in one photo and "Hazet B 16 11/9 longitud 5" in the description of the rest.

The hazet logo.

Hey lok, my Canadian 1961 Hazet price catalog still uses this small letter logo. Could be just the catalog didn't change yet I guess. Is there a site we can get this info?

Lots of info here.

http://www.356.ca/tools/wrenches.htm

If i remember correctly some info for the Hazet logo had been posted to the "..old world" thread (maybe by monte). I'll try to find them again.

Edit.
Here is the text with the differences from the 356.ca

1950-56: letters "azet" underlined with an elongated L shape.

1957-59?: letters "azet" underlined by straight line.

1959?-60's?: same as 1957-59? but more space in the "frame" to either side of "Hazet 450".

1960's?: all letters in name "HAZET" are capitals, underlined with straight line (never in 356 kit).

1970's?: letters "azet" lower case again, underlined with elongated "U" shape (never in 356 kit).

So maybe i was wrong. Maybe in some tool kits never change it.

I also found this thread

Discussion about the catalog but you can find some info for the logo too.

Does anyone know the evolution of the Hazet 600 series wrenches after the period covered by this Porsche tool kit website: http://www.356.ca/tools/wrenches.htm
If anyone out there knows, just a rundown of what changes occurred through the life of the series would be great. When did the 600N series begin? I've got some inch size 600 series combination wrenches and I guess they are the very last of the 600 series before the 600N appeared. I got them for a song from an old Hazet dealer. I collect combination wrenches, and I have to say the Hazet 600 series are my all-time favorite. I'd love to learn more about the evolution of the series. There doesn't seem to be much information on the internet about this.
I know of already a change that has occurred to the 600N series. About 5 years ago the matte finish changed to a brighter, shinier color.

I picked up the same 9 x 11 and 12 x 14 at the flea market months ago, thought they were old but not that old. Good to know!

I have a set of 600Ns and the finish on some was different than others. Slightly. I'll see if I can find a pic.

Hard to tell anything in this pic, but:

Yes, the earlier 600N in the matte area are more gray, on the newer ones it is more silver and shinier. The 600Ns I got 4 years ago already have the newer, more silver finish. I can't pinpoint exactly when that change occurred.
Maybe it was a different, more environmentally plating process?
