I get various wood crates and such from my workplace, and always have some around for various small projects. I had acquired 3 pieces of oak dunnage off a flatbed, so decided to make some uniform wood blocks for general use around the shop. Wire brushed and blew off the timbers, then ran them through my thickness planer to get all pieces uniform. A wood router was used to do a roundover on the corners to make the pieces more hand friendly. Afterwards, the pieces were cut to uniform length. While I was on a roll, and had made a mess anyway, I broke out some crate wood and built a cabinet for my blocks, jackstands, chocks, and machinery skates to reside on. A coped fit into the corner to insure it being solid and level was next, then followed with a coat of oil primer and 2 coats of my sail blue SW paint to match the rest of my shop cabinet color theme. Next on the agenda is to fabricate some sort of rack for the two prybars to mount to the side of the cabinet, to enhance the situation.
