Whats up with all those engines on the stands theres a few there

I'll give you the same answer I give Mrs E-tek - "It's my hobby!"

There a 330FE I bought cause I thought it was a 390 (for my 67 Galaxie), then there's a "real" 390FE with an original Holley 4 bbl, the Nissan straight 6 is for the 240Z and there's 2 flatheads, one for my 46 Merc truck (it has a 53 flatty spare in it now) and one for the rod (27 Ford outside) I'm collecting parts for. I also have a 351W at the in-laws farm that I want to bring home- but there's no room!

That's one of the hardest-working shops on this site, and you've still got room for some collectibles.

It's all business and it looks great.

E-Tek's 'Magic Shop' where he (repeatedly) waves his pneumatic wand, utters the mystical incantation "Bondo, Bondo, toil and trouble, torch burns and undercoat bubbles" and Presto-Voilà! - a masterpiece by the 'Magician of Metal' appears before our eyes from a pile of rust and lumps of plastic! lol

C'mon E-Tek, fess up to us, 'Dracula' is actually wearing your magicians cape, isn't he?

How do you keep the boys from playing with your toys....Oops, I mean your collectables? :bounce:

By the by, NICE WORKING SHOP!

Colby actually had me wearing it today....but I couldn't make anything magical happen!

Well, Colby - being Colby....isn't interested in small toys and Colton used to play with the stuff in there for hours and actually built the Lego Ferrari set. It's all good.

Outstanding. Even glorious.

What does e-tek stand for?

"Excellence in Technology" - to me it means that I will do things as well as possible. No shortcuts. I like how it (E-tek) looks as a logo. It started as "E-tek R-a-c-i-n-g", then I used it for our Magazine Production company as "E-tek Publishing" and now it's "E-tek Restorations"

Would love to visit your place Ed.......one day.

Would love to have you out...one day!

e-tek - that place is just so darn inviting. It looks like you're ready for anything that comes along. And it just goes to prove - you just can't have too many engine stands .

One question for you - with your HD-9 and all the work you do, have you ever felt the need to anchor the lift? I wasn't planning on anchoring mine (when I finally get it) and I would like to get your feedback after living with it many years. Thanks.

E-Tek, you are proof that you don't need a 5,000 square foot shop to enjoy and produce quality "toys". I have enjoyed seeing your Z on the Hybrid Z site. Great work, great shop and the wife ain't half bad either. No offense intended, that's a compliment.

No, I definitely would NOT bolt it down. It's as solid as anything with a car on it. The only time it moves is if you drive a car onto it then hit the brakes!! (Kinda fun). I have moved it a couple times, depending on what project I want where. IT used to be in back, now it's up front.

Do you still have the publishing business?

No - we sold it in 2000 to a media company.

I have a 351W...in the 1990 Ford E350 I use as my daily driver.

Your shop looks great (but makes me think that no matter how big of a shop I end up with, I will always be 'crammed in there.')

Hey M_P! It's so true - and of course we hear it all the time - build the biggest shop you can.....which I did, but still it's crammed full and I continually have to move stuff around, find more space along the walls and even store stuff in sheds and my other (attached) garage!
