Ok, I need to know what the best cleaner is for a sealed garage floor? I was thinking of using a floor scrubber but the barn is 4000sqft and I need to move stuff and would just take to long to move and clean so I am going to scrub with a brush and mop a little each night for a week or so. Cleaner to us?
Thanks guys in advance!

I think you should be able to use a fairly strong cleaner. It needs to be able to dissolve both soils and oils. I like the broom and mop method although it is a lot of exercise. Put some in water and broom it over say 6 feet by 6 feet, then go back over it with the fine bristle broom and agitate until it looks like all the soils are dissolved, mop up and if possible have a second mop to final rinse.

If it does not come very clean double the amount of cleaner in the water and try again.

Fine bristle brooms worked with moderate pressure are much better than stiff bristle brooms. The bristles get into all the depressions and you need the cleaner to do the work while the bristles just agitate the dirt.

Most coatings are resistant to cleaners, but it depends on what coating and what type of cleaner plus how long the cleaner is in contact with the floor.

If you do it quickly in small sections like 40 sq.ft. I doubt you will have problems and you could always test in an area.

BTW, you will get RSI if you spray all that area from the bottle. Can you find a strong floor cleaner to add to a bucket of water? Often laundry detergent does a good job and it is cheap. I think a floor cleaner would be better.

good ole regular powdered Tide. Hard to beat and smells ok too.

I used to use that when I was working in gas stations (Nights and Weekends) in the '70's. Wet the surface and sprinkle the dry laundry soap on the concrete and brush and mop the surface and rinse into the gutter. It always made my boss happy the next day.

I agree with the tide, also dawn dish soap works well. Keep it simple and cheap, the basic cleaners cut through dirt and grease very well.

What I don't want to do is put a cleaner down that will leave a residue that will track dirt easier. I know at my last job our floors were white and I remember them using a cleaner in the floor scrubber that you could walk after they cleaned and it left foot prints like you wouldn't believe.

No residue, 1 gallon vinegar 2 gallons hot water. Few drops of dish soap for bubbles.

OP: Pour N Restore came out with a product called Curb Appeal. I have not had the chance to use it. Its a basic degreaser. I would be willing to send you a small bottle for free (32oz) if you will write up your honest thoughts on it.

EMAIL me at the address below with your full name and address.

The reason for residue on the floor after scrubbing is that there was no rinsing. That will not happen to you if you rinse after.

Justin, cleaner worked good! Been using Crud cutter from lowes and it works the same. The stuff you sent me was strong! Had a good smell to it... Better than crud cutter. LOL
