http://legacyindustrial.net

After reading many hours on the Garage Journal forums I picked the Legacy industrial floor coating because 1st the size of the kit, most were only 500sq. ft.
Second the company was very active in the forums and most willing to answer questions. All the reviews for their product were good too.

I am first time user of epoxy, read lots in the Garage Journal forums and watch a lot of videos on you tube for help. Found this project easy to do but very time consuming, no short cuts to prep work.

We have almost been in our new home for a year, the garage floor hasn’t been parked in yet, was full of boxes and gear.
First off had to clean all the paint over spray and drywall mud of the floor.
I spent a lot of time on the prep of the floor, scraping, brushing, pressure washing and etching.

Found that the products were very well packaged, all the metal I gallon cans had plastic ring over the lids to keep them from leaking or opening, the smaller ½ gallon sizes had metal clips to hold the lids on. No product leaked in the 4163 km trip to Canada. (2586 miles)

After cleaned, and etched, I filled the cracks with HD-821 Crack Sealant, and used the HD-100 SuperFlex Urethrae Sealant on the gap between the slab and ponywall.
These products were easy to use, but don’t mix too much of the crack sealant together as set up pretty quick, and gets pretty warm. (I used a paint tray liner to mix the 2 parts together and it got pretty warm on the bottom).

HD-139 Flexible Epoxy Primer
Next was the primmer, mix one can of part A with can one part of B, easy to mix no measuring. Got work fast with this stuff, pour onto the floor and roll out.
I left a small amount in the bucket and forgot about it while doing the cut in, it got clumpy and very hot in 30 min in was sitting the bucket. No problems losing the product had more than enough to do the job.Found a couple of bubbles in the primer were it was thicker I just push them down before rolling on the base coat.
Base coat was same as primer easy to mix, but had longer bucket life. Poured it out and rolled it.
Be careful in those spike straps on for your shoes you can slip in them, and the spikes can fall out.

I did full flake to rejection, had 100 pounds of 1/16 Black Marble Blend Color Chips. Poured them into 5 gallon bucket and spread them buy hand and used all the chips.
Let the floor dry over night then used a blower to blow them up against the wall and vacuumed them up. Used a squeegee on the floor to knock any lose ones free and then vacuumed the whole floor again. Filled up 1.5 - 5 gallon pails of lose chips.

HD-322 Urethane Clear coat
One again this is easy to mix, because I am doing 2 coats I had to measure out the ½ a gallon of part B to 1 gallon of part A.
This urethane can rolled out from a tray and you have lots of time to put down.
This was the hardest part because it was hard to tell where you rolled and didn’t roll.

I am very happy with Legacy Industrial Legacy HD System 600Sq Epoxy Floor kit and would recommend it to anyone.

job looks great, very nicely done, and is it just me or does UPS seem to charge whatever they want for broker fee's and it always seems totally out of line, I could understand a fixed cost, or X per $$, but every dealing with them made it more clear they just stuff a number on it.

That looks awesome. Love the black flake!

Putting in my legacy order in the spring. Gonna try getting it shipped to the border then I'll pick it up.

For those Canadians that want to know how bad the UPS **** is going to hurt before you get the "screw you" surprise, check out www.thefinalcost.com They are pretty good for final totals. I just can't support that useless company anymore.

Thanks for the info.

I avoid UPS at all costs, tired of being screwed by that company. Luckily I'm near the border so I will ship to my US address and pick up. I just checked out the finalcost website (thanks KPS, I hadn't seen it before) and UPS would add almost $200 to my $300± order.

Hi TD, looks great. Very similar look to what I plan to do this coming summer on a new slab. Any tricks to doing a full flake broadcast ? How do you insure you are throwing enough, but not too many chips and end up short at they'd?

Thanks
