New guy here, always wanted to build my own shop, so here is the beginning of what I have started so far, It's going to be 30X40 metal building. The plan is for a shop and game room/man cave together, I wouldn't call myself much of a mechanic, but more of a tinkerer. Anyway, thanks for any comments or ideas.

Looks good Matt, I went with 30 x 40 also. Love your ponies, but I'm a Chevelle man. In particular 1968 SS.

Thanks, I'm watching your build posts, interested in seeing what you have done with yours. The yellow one is a 68 so we have something in common!

Thanks guys, It's a Mueller building and I am very happy with it so far, the most people I have had working is 3 but most of the time only two. I have 4 days total on the build, and if it wasn't for radiant barrier i used (which is thin bubble wrap with foil on one side and white plastic on the other) I think we would have been finished by now. This stuff is radiant guard brand, I went with it instead of fiberglass insulation, to save money for now because i want to totally insulate and cover the walls later on. Anyway, the building has been very easy, I had one issue when I thought I was shorted some pieces, I called Mueller and they explained to me why I thought this and that they get this a lot from their customers. Maybe they will change their plans up?? Overall great experience And there are great savings to be had if you go with the kit instead of a custom building. Thanks again, and let me know if you have any other questions. -Matt

Heres a small pic from my old barn, I wont even call it a shop, I have it plastered with signs and license plates. The next pic is where the power will come from but that will be next week, and a day off so I can dig a ditch for it. And me trying not to fall!:willy_nil

Recently got my new door installed. ordered it from doors direct, good quality and service from these guys. Very easy install with three people and no material lift or forklift.

Been a long time since I posted and I have done quite a bit since last post. The exterior was completed by January and I had moved in. Here is a few of the outside looking in on different dates, I am the worst about rearranging my Shop, so forgive me if the pics seem to come out of order.

This looks great Matt, I have a couple of questions, Did you pour some sort of anchor bolts in the Cement when you poured the slab? It looks like you were bolting down the posts? Would I be too imposing to ask how much the basic kit cost you?
Thanks

I'm a newbee here,

Looks good Matta5, if you don't mind me asking , how much did the building cost?
I'm wanting to build that size also. Are those 10' walls or 12'? On your slab, what type of chainwall did you use?

Thanks for the questions guys, Yes the anchor bolts were poured into the slab, I got the kit from Mueller Metal Buildings and it cost about 7500.00, its 30x40 by 12' the peak is roughly 13 ft. I live in TX so we don't have to worry about snow, so no real need for steep pitch here. I had the slab poured by a contractor, and dont know the first thing about concrete so please tell me what "chainwall" is? Thanks again, feel free to ask anything else you want to know.- Matt

A chainwall is around the edges of the slab, you'll dig down about 18"(depending on who's doing it) and pour the concrete in the trench to support the edges, some even put "I"beams in the middle for support.
