I've been set to purchase a set of 1/2" drive, deep metric sockets for the past month. I'm finding it difficult to find a set other than SO that includes a 20 mm socket. Is a 20 mm not common, or is there an imperial size that is identical? As most of the stuff I use is 3/8 and snap on I was kind of hoping for a c-man set. How many people have a 20 mm socket?

Yep, the 20 does come in the shallow, but I'd like deep. To add to the "problem" I'm in Canada and the Sears stuff here isn't the same as in the US.. Some is better, some worse so I guess we're about equal from that stand point:beer:

I did a complete overhaul on my 2000 windstar suspension last week. New everything. I had to fiddle with an imperial sized socket to do what I'm sure is a 20 mm nut. I just hate not having the proper tool. It's challenging enough to do the work let alone not having the tools needed.

Just find the local dealer for Gray Tools and they should have what you want. The 1/2" drive 18 pc. deep wall set is #39318 and goes from 10mm to 27mm. the price is a steep $385. They are made in Canada.

We talked about this awhile back. No one could find an application for a 20mm socket. Wrenches yes, (GM fuel filters and ac lines). I wouldn't loose any sleep over not having a 20mm socket.

Wow! Tonza' replies!

Sears doesn't seem to let me buy from the US site. The Can site doesn't make them. Canadian tire used to sell them but they don't anymore. Do I have a nut that I need to take off today that's a 20? No. But last week when I was working on my van anything I had that was close, imperial or metric had some slop.

I guess the other thing is that when I look at my hansen trays and they're all filled, except the 20 deep, it kinda bugs me. I know others share my feeling. So, I think I'll just pick up a gray or SO one and fill the hole.

thanks for all the advice!

Never used mine. I bought it anyway though. Probably 10$ I could have spent better elsewhere but at least I have the full set!
