Hi, I'm Ryan and I found this site while searching for info on a vise my Dad gave me. It's a Morgan Chicago 140 that had been in the basement of a building he bought. So with new info from here I cleaned it up and painted it. I then was reminded that my current workbench is a pos by it trying to remove itself from the wall because of the weight of the Morgan. So the bench has been reinforced and added a bolt on receiver hitch. Eventually I will make a new bench how I want it. I have also cleaned up a small vise that I found on CL but don't know much about it.
I am working on uploading the pictures....

I am still looking for a replacment 3/8 bolt with a square head. I have never seen a bolt fail by delaminating the head.

I am not a photographer for sure, but I like this pic of Big Blue and Little Red. I hope to build a small bench for my daughter to beat on as she grows up.

I recently bought a couple of square head 3/8" NC bolts at the local farm supply. They had them in a hardware assortment that had cardboard containers on pull-out shelves in the hardware section. Ace Hardware probably has the same thing if it is a large store.

I have only looked at one big box store but will try a couple old hardware stores soon. If I have to, I will make some thing work. A regular hex head seems to snug up, but I don't think it will hold up. It needs the square head to stop it from rotating.
Does anybody recognise the little red vise? I believe its missing another sticker, but I haven't found another example yet. I am not sure if it was made by New Britain, or in the town of New Britain.
