Nice

What''s really great to see tools that are used instead of sparkling jewelry in someones trophy case

Thanks lennox, yeah mine get used daily. I must admit though the 2 on the right without the blue handles have been "retired" to my wooden machinist toolbox.

I only have 2 pairs of 420's and a pair of the 426's. Im really close to picking up a pair of the welding pliers and a few pairs of needle nose.

Absolutely not! There is no such thing as too many. I Have all mine up on a rail(s) on pegboard on the garage. If I had to guess there's at least 4 dozen there and I can still think of some styles that would come in handy. My friends think I'm nuts when I buy another pair. If you mix brands there is so many more combinations of shape, thickness, knurling (or smooth), length, handle contour, etc.. that each job can always have a more appropriate plier option.

Is it just me or are pliers one of the more 'fun' hand tools to collect?

I love Channellocks. I have around 15 pairs. The only ones that I don't like are the 960 locknut pliers.

those 960's are not actually made by channellock if I am not mistaken.

No, those are from the 60's and 70's.

Finally!!! I know this thread is old but I have been trying to find out information on those Tog-l-lok pliers for years. My dad has a pair and they are always his go to locking pliers but I have never been able to find any information on them or even who made them as his are pretty worn. I don't know why they stopped making them, but if anybody knows of a new version or knock-off, let me know.

Thanks
