All things being equal, can someone explain the difference (pros/cons) in using a 12K BTU unit that runs on 110 volts vs. one that runs on 220 volts?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Assuming you're running a dedicated circuit for it, the 110 will cost more to install since you'll need to pull bigger wire. 110 will use twice the amps as 220.
Less amps is gooder. Use 220 whenever possible.
It hasn't happened yet but some jackass will give you a hard time about 110 and 220 vs. the actual 120 and 240 that you actually have. I speak from experience with that.
If you can run it at 220, the outdoor unit will run more efficiently by a small degree. Your indoor units will still pull just 120 from the outdoor unit...
Many manuf indoor units draw 220v. Mine do. 14-3
I realize that but if his unit has the option of 110 or 220 ten I am assuming his indoor units only are going to be pulling 110...
