Thank you! Just ordered a set. I passed last time and was kicking myself a bit afterwards. I needed a few more things, so I used $5 off $50 to get them for $25. "Needed" being a term GJ'ers understand.

I just bought this set, and I can’t find the COO on the actual ratchets, but the plastic hanger they are attached to says Made in Taiwan. Hope this helps.

Bought a set last time, and really like them. If you get them in person check them, my 3/8 on the first set would not hold any torque. could cause slippage by hand turning an extension on it.

exchanged at Sears with no problems, and use them regularly since. Really comfy handles.

Just got home with mine, I am pretty impressed to say the least.

I compared it to my other ratchets and it's high 72 tooth count stacked up well. The 1/4" is nice, but doesn't seem to be quite as smooth as the SO dual 80 and it makes an extremely audible click where the Snappy is near silent. The 3/8" Model falls somewhere between the Craftsman Thin Profile (60 tooth I find it to be pretty rough) and the Snap On Dual 80 (perfection?)

One thing that is odd about the roto ratchet design is if you notice where the handle pivots through the middle of the head (centered around the drive). I will have to wait and get some actual use on it before I can say for sure but the initial impression I got from tinkering is you get less torque than a flex head when you are using the ratchet at sharper angles. It seems at sharp angles some of your force tries to "tip" the socket off of the fastener vs rotating it.

On the bright side, the soft handles are extremely comfortable and I plan on using these a fair amount. I am still somewhat iffy on them due to the round head (I prefer pear head ratchets) but for the $$ they are hard to beat. The cheapest soft grip flex head ratchets (gearwrench) are 2.5 times as much. I am glad I bought them, especially at this price, as they are a nice addition to the toolbox.

:edit: I cant read.

For someone who cannot read you have done surprisingly well on an online forum.

Added wrenches to cart and the price jumps to 59.99. I guess the sale is over.

I just put one in my cart and it worked fine at $29.99. Sale is still on, website just screwy as usual.

Amazon dropped their price last time to match the previous Sears sale, and then raised it as soon as the Sears sale ended. Smart business move, but a bit viscious, which is why I bought mine from Sears. Like most people here I want Sears to succeed, and try to reward them when their behavior is positive.

yes....I love mine but to be honest im on my third one because they sometimes freewheel or get stuck in one direction.
I have and use both, and after taking the gearwrench apart to lube it and also seeing pictures of the internals of the harbor freight roto-ratchets on this forum I would say that the harbor freight ones are probably stronger because there is a lot more tooth engagement of the ratchet (the gearwrench still torque tested fine to 200+ftlbs with the 3/8" ratchet in the ratchet shootout so it is not weak). The downfall of the harbor freight ones is that they can't be taken apart to lube, and because of the design and the tremendous amount of tooth engagement of the ratchet (compared to most other ratchets) there is a lot of back drag as a result which can be annoying in certain circumstances, whereas the gearwrench roto-ratchets have about the same or a little less back drag than your average round head ratchet.
Yea i tried lubing my gw with a little 3 in 1 and i actually couldnt switch the pawl anymore! and i agree i have a 1/2 hf roto and it feels almost more secure and easier to switch directions. no bashing the gearwrench i love my gw stuff i just think that the hf roto's are prob some of the best items hf carries in store

HF has locking button; GW does not. For some people that would be the deciding criteria. Otherwise they are very similar in performance.

Ive had these for a couple years now. The 3/8 is pretty long and is my go-to normally. While I'm not a tech, I've had no problems in moderate use and must admit they DO live up to the Gearwrench marketing speak (at least when it comes to "access"). On Subaru H6 spark plug replacement, these are the weapon of choice due to VERY tight frame rail clearance.

My only criticism of them is the direction selector being a somewhat low profile wheel style and difficult to change when gloves are worn. If they had a better ridge on the wheel selector, it would be a welcome improvement. Otherwise, they are fantastic and at this price, a bargain.

I just added it to my cart and came up $29.99. Got to love that sears website. It's a roll of the dice sometimes.

Thanks WhiskyDevil for the heads up. For my information, does anybody have the link the HF ones?

Thanks.
