Here's my first grinder restore, thanks to GJ. :rocker:

It's a Boice Crane, Wilton Corp. that I picked up at an estate sale for $25.

Disassembled and thoroughly cleaned, prepped and painted. I went with Rustoleum Hammer Finish Copper, and Rustoleum Heirloom White. (Copper and Cream). Also, repacked bearings and cleaned all electrical connections.

I am damn pleased with the end result. So, thanks to all of you for the know how and sharing.

Nice job, and I like the carry handle. I'll have to see it that is doable on mine as I mount my bench grinders on mounting plates and set them up on a WorkMate when needed. Saves workbench space!

The thought has crossed my mind that If I redo the workbench arrangement in a major way someday to mount up one of those "benchtop" workmates flush to the top or to setup one of the three Wood workers Vices I have to do the same deal, and move the gripping blocks to the outer edge on the mounting plates.

Thanks for posting up a brand that I have never seen before!
Very nice job on the refresh!! I too, love the handle. Almost makes it look like a shoe shine buffer. LOL

Needs some guards no? Or at least wear a Uvex Stealth when using it.

Wheel guards? We don't need no stinkin' wheel guards!

Looks great!

Thanks for the compliments all! While we're on the subject, what pros do guards serve? Other than safety. I've had grinders with and without them, and obv the ones w/o are more capable for access.

So, is there any other reason one might want guards?

When that stone wheel explodes at high velocity, and it will, you want some shrapnel protection.
