My garage - actually used for two cars

I spent the past week organizing my 22 x 22 garage. I had a large tool chest, but no organizational skills, so I could never find what I needed. If I can't find something, my wife definitely can't, so I decided my commonly used tools would be best in the open.

My wife parks her SUV on the left side, leaving the right side for my drag car (an 87 Mustang LX). The 'stang is in the paint shop, which gave me time to work. I'm having back surgery next week, and after I'm ready to start doing physical work again, I'm going to lay Race Deck - 2 foot black border with 2-foot square checkerboard pattern of grey and silver. I'll paint the walls two-tone with darker grey on the bottom, light grey on top, separated by a lime green stripe (my car is getting painted Lambo Verde Ithica Mica pearl green).

So here are a couple pics...making the best use of space with what I have. When I get the other corners finished, I'll post pics, and more as I paint and get the floor done.

Another standing cabinet is going where the Ford banner is hanging.

You have a very nice set up and still room to park the vehicles inside. I had that set up when I had small vehicles but shot myself in the foot now having an extended cab truck and a Tahoe, plus wanting three workbenches and a raft of woodworking machines.
You have a nice shop working set up along the walls, looks really neat and cool. Hopefully your red gas cans are empty? Great setup!!!!

That's exactly it! I have to not only leave room to park, but room to walk around and work on the cars, so it's paramount that everything is OFF THE FLOOR!

More pics coming. Made some more progress today. Thank you for the kind words and YES, the gas cans are all empty! I'm putting a small shed outside to house the generator you see in one of those pictures. The gas cans will accompany it out there giving me even more space above the cabinets.

I added a few shelves and another cabinet today.

The window is quite an obstruction. Unfortunately, that's the front of the house, so there's no blocking it up.

Ramp hangers and a couple new shelves to get more stuff of the floor. You can see how much room I'll have once the Mustang get reassembled - all these parts laying around are taking up space.

Gratuitous engine shot. Just sitting here waiting for the Mustang to come home.

The Grand Cherokee can park in the garage and there's still a few feet on all sides to walk around. Much better!

The pile at the front of the garage is stuff that's going either in the trash or to someone else's garage.

Looking Good. I hav spent the last couple months building mine out. I am jealous as I have a standard 20x20 and that extra 4x4 space would be so helpful. It is amazing if you plan well really how much can fit in one small space :)
