I have the exact same firestorm drill. It served me well over the years, but then I upgraded to something more compact. The battery still works after 6-7 years, and they're nicads!!

Funny you should post that. I just pulled a regular black & decker 18v out of the toolbox in my truck and it was cracked and destroyed. As for the Firestorm, it has built 15 decks and remodeled my house with zero problems or hiccups. The base model was junk but I would gladly use the Firestorm model again.

I see yours was a firestorm from your pic. I'm sorry you didn't have good results from it, but I've been very happy.

Just wondering if the 1/2" Impact has enough power to remove a wheel lug?

Oh heck yes...easily. It's the heavy duty one, not the regular littler one like the 3/8" impact pictured. That's exactly what I use it for, swapping tires...so much faster than pulling out the air.
