Has anyone seen the new issue? Trying to locate it, but it seems to be sold out everywhere I go. They did a piece on one of my garages, but I can't seem to find a copy here.

Apparently there was a really, really cool garage in this issue from southern California. Publisher can't keep it on the shelf. They are doing multiple printings across the country. Heard this issue might be a collectors item already.

Picked it up Thursday at Lowes! Good issue. I'll send you mine if you can't find it somewhere else.....after I'm done reading it of course.

Ah... Lowes. I didn't try there. THANKS!

(and thanks for the offer, but I wouldn't want to take your copy)

I picked it up the other day at Lowes too. Your garage is in there along with Red Leader's, and a couple others who are on this forum.

I was thinking as I read it that it should have been titled, "A selection of Dream Garages of Garage Journal."

I went to Lowes tonight, and they told me they no longer carry magazines...only "how to" books. OH WELL. I'll try the 5 other Lowes stores in my hood tomorrow.

I also saw them at Barnes and Noble this morning. They had a stack of them.

Well was it all you hoped it would be? I know with editing they can leave out the things you like the most and make things unimportant seem like the biggest deal in the world.

I enjoyed it thoroughly, just curious what your take was?

Funny you should pose this question. To be honest...they did mis-quote a few things, and left a lot of things out. They interviewed me in person and on the phone. They seemed to be extremely detail oriented. They actually sent me the verbiage to look over and give them my blessings. I made a few changes and sent it back to them. Seems like they just used what they first wrote.

OH WELL...

I couldn't find it on WOOD Magazine's website either. I checked the magazine rack at my local Walmart yesterday and found it there.

I haven't been able to find it. Is there an online source?

I was looking for it on-line as well because I'm currently in Europe... a quick 1 minutes search found this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dream-Garages-Shops-2013-/181072474731?pt=Magazines&hash=item2a28c2b26b

Can't believe shipping alone to Europe on a magazine costs almost $15.00. A seller in CA shipped me a pair of new nike shoes in box for $14.00 last week lol.

Oh well, I'll have to call up a local book store back in Toronto and hopefully put a copy on hold for a family member of mine to go in and pickup for me.

Cheers

Some beautiful garages in there! I recognized at least one other GJ member's space, but there were probably more. I was very humbled to have the little 50's Craftsman Garage in there:D

Also found it at Barnes and Noble today but it the store by my office only had it packaged with the current issue of Wood Magazine. Depending how your store is displaying it, either could be facing outward.

I saw it the same way at Home Depot. They had it by itself too.

Looks like a cool rag. Guess I need to go look for it myself. I'm surprised they didn't send you a bundle of them for letting them feature your garage though. That would seem to me to be automatic.

They do. I got 8.

They sent me 1, but told me I could get more if I requested them in writing. I just figured it was easier to buy them locally than have to wait. I think I've bought about 15 so far. LOL. Have sent them to a bunch of friends.

I'll have to pick up a copy--I subscribe to Garage Style magazine which is another good resource for garage stuff! My wife calls it Garage **** and I'm okay with that!

Every single time I've been interviewed by the press or had inside knowledge of something they were reporting on, they managed to get details wrong. Every. Single. Time. Sometimes they were little details, and sometimes they were massive ones.

Draw your own conclusions about how much faith to put in what you read every day.

Same here! Extensive interview, several post conversations, review of pics w/ tweeks and agreement........then they print what they want!?!

Random question, as I can't seem to download last year's edition. How many page(s) did each garage get in the issue?

Thanks.
