So, I've known about this site for awhile and would browse now-&-than....but I was up in Ohio for the holidays and a friend recently finished out their 2-car garage. This gave me the motivation to get mine going. I got a lot of ideas here and there are definitely some folks here with A LOT of talent.....I'm working with roughly 20' x 24' space that is primarily my workshop for my race car.

I started with making some electrical upgrades and the space is now a lot more user-friendly. To think I only had one outlet in this garage up until about a month ago....

I insulated with R-15 in the walls and ceiling. I'll be adding more to the ceiling soon. I then hung 5/8" on the ceiling and 1/2" on the walls. I doubled-up on the house side for some added noise barrier.

I know how to mud & tape, but I'm no good at it. So, this is the one part I hired-out. Once everything was complete, I could not believe the difference in temperatures. It was about 32-deg or so yesterday and with a simple electric heater going yesterday I was comfortable with a t-shirt....amazing.

So, a fairly straight-forward build when compared to some of the builds here...enjoy the pics....

Some of the completed project...

I still have some minor details and I'm trying to decide if I'm going to re-do the floor later this year....

Awesome space. I'm a little biased to a couple of your decisions; i put a similar colour to your walls up recently and love how subtle it is. I also share your commitment with a few Husky pieces. Nice job. So what are you thinking for the floor? The classic debate (Epoxy vs. Race Deck) or something different?

Secondly....Nice job!!!! It's looking great!!!

What did you do with the other front fender? One pic has a driver side fender in it and your last pics have a passenger side fender.

Thanks....I was originally going to put in Ultimate cabinets, but once the walls were done I think my initial cabinet plan was a bit over ambitious. I noticed the Husky cabinets at Home Depot and I liked the style.

As for the paint color, I was initially planning a two-tone gray, but I like the solid color now that it's on the wall. This is a nice subtle tone and I don't feel like I'm losing as much light reflection if I would've gone with a darker shade.

The floor is currently expoxied and was initially done when we bought the house in 2007. It's the Rust-Oleum product and has held up pretty well, but is showing some wear. I'm leaning towards Race Deck, but I haven't completely decided yet.

Shenandoah circuit at Summit Point in West Virginia got the better of me this past October. I was coming into the braking zone off the front stretch and one of the heim joints on the front pass side control arm broke...when I went to turn left, the car went right and off into the tire walls. Not too much damage, but enough to give me some garage art....
