I'm looking for a floor covering for both my office and bathroom in the new garage. There is hydronic heat in the floor and my concern is that a self stick tile would curl up over time given the heat source. Bear in mind this is a working shop so let's not get crazy with bamboo or something. Ceramic tile isn't out of the question but middle age efficiency directs me away from choosing a product involving actual effort. Suggestions ?

I don't see why an appropriate epoxy or polyaspartic coating wouldn't be suitable. Can be very decorative with vinyl fleck and metallic pigments and for the most part is unaffected by heat after installation...

You would have better luck finding epoxy... If it was me i would get 2 gallons of water clear uv resistant epoxy and use about 25 lbs of chips as the decortive part of the floor...
1 coat epoxy
100 percent coverage of chips
1 top coat of epoxy

(you should have plenty of left over material! prob 1/2-3/4 a gallon and several lbs of chips)

Simple and elegant with the correct color choice(s) and chip size.

as far as i know no one is offering a 2 gallon kit for polyaspartic... citadel has a 1 to 1 polyaspartic that could be easily packaged for a two gallon kit but ymmv on weather you can get one.

*Any type of grout work will look crappy in due time…
*Coatings on –grout only- will eventually fail in time due to moisture …
*Porous types of tile can be covered with coatings to maintain a cleaner surface and protect the grout simultaneously… (cheap isn't good).

I won’t get crazy with trying to Bamboozle you, I would only like to share that I have completed one hydro floor entryway with a hallway leading to two offices and back entry to the garage.

*A medium dark blue three-tone quartz aggregate floor was chosen.
*The color was too dark to hide the foreseeable footprints caused by garage dust, which was color corrected with oxides during the last coat.

After following up a month later, I found out towards days end he enjoys walking on the floor with socks and says the floor massages his feet.

Coating:
Base coat clear (heavy ags).
Fill coat (troweled w/smaller ags)
Top Coat (polya rolled to reveal semi-rough surface).
Thickness: 3/16
Cost: 6.00 on 400 sq.
Re-coat estimate: 6-7 years 325.00 to 350.00 service fee
