Guys,
I'm about to bite the bullet on some Ernst wrench organizers. There are regular ones which hold 20 wrenches and low profile ones which hold 15 wrenches. I'd like to utilize these in the shallow drawers of my Snap-On KR-1001. I'd prefer to use the regular ones since the wrenches are less likely to fall out when closing the drawer and they hold more wrenches. However, I am unsure how large a wrench the regular ones can hold before it interferes with the drawer closing.

I'm pretty sure my shallow drawers in my kr1001 are the same height as the newer shallow krl drawers.

Any owners want to chime in? Thanks in advance.

Don't know how shallow your drawers are. This is a 27mm wrench

if by "regular", you mean the ones that get taller at one end to accommodate the larger wrenches, I think you'll find it'll be kind of tight height-wise in a shallow KRL drawer. I have a set of those I bought when I had a KRL722 and IIRC, height was the reason I didn't use them. I'll double check when I get home but I'm pretty sure that's the reason.

If you are looking at the 20 tool wrench organizers that are two separate pieces, they are too tall.

Look at the 16 tool organizers linked above, they are great.

Ernst makes AWESOME products and they have always treated me very well when I call with a question, service request or order.

There are no links above unless I'm blind. Are you referring to the 15 wrench low profile organizers?

I have the 15 piece organizers regular and the reversed one. The only problem I had was the top would hit the drawer above so I trimmed them down a little. Im headed to work shortly Ill take a quick pic for you.

Back when I first started wrenching, I would get some springs that didn't have tight coils, and were about 8-10" long. I would put my wrenched in the springs to hold my tools. Very cheap and inexpensive til I was able to afford actual wrench holders.

Amazon lists the measurements, which you can check against your drawer measurements if that helps. I ended up ordering the portable gripper type.

I would toss about half those big wrenches in a bottom drawer out of the way so I didnt have to roll a heavy bastards every time I went for a 9/16 or 13MM wrench. Every drawer cycle open 20# of tools you use once a week.

I got to have the stuff but its out of site 99.5% of the time and aint got to haul a drawer open to get a 1/2 wrench.
