I got clearance from my bride to build a new shop last year, under the condition that I makeover the garage on the house. I had to be done before my son's graduation (middle of May). April 1, my bride officially informed me that I was treading on thin ice. A call to RaceDeck, a trip to Menards, and a little bit of time over the last couple weeks, and I am out of the woods.

Started by hauling multiple loads of stuff to the shop.

Here are the leftovers that I need to move yet. We will call this the before picture.

Needed to do some drywall work in one corner and ceiling, and put in better stairs, to cleanup some water damage.

Took down the light fixtures and added keyless fixture with bare bulbs hanging on the wires (why the light is so crappy in my photos), finished prepping for paint.

Suited up and sprayed everything the same color. The goal was to be completely monochrome, with the floor adding the interest.

Started in on the floor the next day. Going with Tuffshield Circletrack in a Beige/White checkerboard pattern borderd by black FreeFlows. Placde 3/4 inch ply blocks around the edges of the garage for spacing (allow for expansion) and got to it.

The black freeflows really show what is underneath. I didn't like the look, so rolled out landscape fabric where the flows would be. It made a big difference.

Progress went fast, this stuff is easy to put down. This was about 5 hours.

A little left to do around the edges (trimming to fit), put tiles the stairs, put real lights back in. Will post when those are done.

Which Polaris Ranger "monster" is it? The 400, 500 or 800cc? and you used it for ride or work with?

Its an 800cc crew. I use it for as my commuter vehicle (travel to the shop from the house), for chores, and to ride around to see the neighbors.

There is a older 400cc 2 stroke quad in the shop that I beat the snot out of (pulling the trail mower, harrows, pushing snow, etc). I also use it to take elk hunting.

It's an XJR, shorter/lighter than the Vanden Plas. Lots more fun to drive, but not as plush (kind of an odd statement to make). Love the car, but the British car tradition carries on, can't drive it when it's too cold and wet (near 0 F). If you don't let it idle, it will hydro lock on the ice from the intercooler that melts on shutdown (heat soak). I have done it twice... Still love the car.
