Has anyone heard of or have experience with Gemini Lifts out of Texas? They are made in the USA and about $2k cheaper than a Rotary Revolution.

Stew,
Back 5 years ago they did build their lifts there in Fort Worth..now everything is brought in from China with a few parts maybe added on or in the box and they slap a sticker that states "Assembled in the USA"
Look at the total shipping weight of the two you are looking at...less steel in a lift is not always a good thing. Also be sure to check out the locking set up on the lower end lift....that too would be a major point for me if I were buying a lift now.
Good luck to ya!

I looked into Gemini around the first of the year. It was hard to get much information on them but they didn't look to be very good quality from what I could see. Most companies seem to have gone away from the chain drives with cylinders overhead. John

That is literally 10 minutes from my house. If you'd like I'll go over and eyeball them.

I had been looking into Worth Equipment lifts also in FW.

Thanks Carguy 123 - that would be great. I went to the distributor today and looked at the different models and I have to say that I was impressed. The particular distributor sells about 150 a year of just the for post and it turns out GM just bought some and the Ford facility that builds the GT uses them soley.

We lucked up a few weeks ago and got a 9000 lb for $550. The local ford dealership closed, and they were getting rid of everything. It seems to be really good quality, I can't complain because of the price but so far it is doing good.

How do you know that 'GM bought some today'? Do you work at GM or did Gemini Lifts Rep. show you an order? Just curious. I'm in skilled trades at Lordstown, Ohio plant and all they have here are Mohawk brand lifts. These are HEAVY DUTY, and I'm sure with all the safety awareness and training that we go through annualy and liability issues that they are exposed to, they use only the BEST lift when they have someone under one of their vehicles on a lift. If that car weighs 3,000 lbs., that lift is rated for 20,000 lbs! That thing will be checked '9 ways to Tuesday'. So...... not doubting you, just wondering how you know this. Thanks.

The rep told me and I checked it out with my brother. Gm is using them mainly for storage. Their working lifts are Rotarys.

Rad Lifts by Gemini Lifts - be warned/steer clear

I know this is an older thread, but an answer of warning is warranted.

Here's the short version:

After providing a full payment, I couldn't get them to deliver. Once they finally did commit to delivery, their installer called and suggested that I do not take delivery of the unit as it was beat to heck and bent up. I should have declined delivery but for some reason I didn't. Yes, it was damaged, but the bends and dents were all cosmetic and didn't affect the mechanicals.

I have an epoxied floor and the installer did considerable damage as he and his WIFE wrestled with performing the installation.

To add insult to injury, the dealer charged me $100 more than we agreed to on the phone and as I tried to challenge it via Discover, I learned that any retailer can do that and Discover will not stand by the customer. So, ONLY execute payment with these guys via a hard copy with your signature. This is the only way to have a fallback on the agreed upon purchase price whereby the retailer cannot prevail against the claim.

They are a shifty bunch and it won't take a very long conversation on the phone with them for you to pick up on this. First lie out of their mouth was that the lift was American Made. Found out only during happenstance conversation with the installer after he was done that it was a China sourced lift.

I called and called Gemini before I resorted to a claim through Discover and they refuse to give me a refund and have also refused to make good on their commitment to provide my manual for the unit. I have absolutely not one stitch of paperwork for the investment.

Buyer be warned.
